Mr. Navneet Sharma was very good & he made our Stay comfortable
Staff are less.
The building itself as well as the rooms are beautifully renovated and delightful.
Our experience at Shahpura Haveli was not a good one. This boils down to two separate (but related) issues:
1. Facilities - as per the property description, we were promised a swimming pool (closed and drained 'for repairs'), bar (closed and unstaffed), outdoor dining (not available), cafe (does not exist). There were smaller issues too - minibar listed (empty fridge), there was no room service menu (in fact, we later found out the entire hotel had a single physical menu for the restaurant and rooms!).
2. Staff - nobody met us at the entrance, nobody took our bags, nobody was at reception when we arrived, nobody showed us around or talked about where things are, the receptionist (once there) did not speak English sufficiently to communicate with us effectively; room service took a long time and we asked for extra pillows 3x to get any; the restaurant had 1 single menu, the food took >1h from sit down to service and was of poor quality, seemingly microwaved.
Nobody apologised for the issues raised and only after prolonged discussion we were offered 30% off food/drink which is not sufficient at all. We are requesting a refund, especially based on the promised amenities which were not provided.
Overall, quite a shocking experience for a 5 star hotel. Compounded by the fact it is in a small village/town with no other amenities, so one relies on the hotel fully.
It is a shame as such a beautiful property has great potential. As things currently stand - cannot be recommended.
The manager was fantastic
