Sapa Lodge Hotel

Needs maintenance. People smoke’s everywhere even the dining area where youre having breakfast.

I didn’t chose this hotel but stayed here as part of a tour round Vietnam. It seemed to be colder inside the hotel than outside. At breakfast all the windows were open and the restaurant was very cold, as was the breakfast.
Rooms were OK but the showers were a bit hit and miss.
This was the worst hotel of the tour

From the outside the hotel looks way better than it actually is. Our first issue was the defective aircon. The whole bathroom floor was flooded with water because of a pipe that was connected to the ac and water was dripping right on the floor. Apart from that, the remote didn’t work and we couldn’t turn off the ac. The worst part about that was not the defective machine, but the extremely unhelpful staff. When we told the staff about the problem they just answered that this would be normal and they didn’t offer any solution. We asked to change the room, but they refused in the beginning. After pushing really hard they finally booked us into a different room. The second issue was that we wanted to have breakfast at 9:10 am. Usually breakfast is until 9:30 am. When we got to the breakfast room, nobody was to be found. We were told that due to a very low number of guests they finished breakfast early, so we never got our breakfast. The same day we gave them our laundry which was supposed to be ready at 10pm. When we asked about it nobody could tell us anything about it. As we were departing early the next morning we had to cancel our bus. All in all, I severely do not recommend anyone to stay at Sapa Lodge New Hotel. The service is a disaster. The only plus was the comfortable bed.

Turned up they said we didn't have a booking, put is in another hotel. Untrustworthy, bad management. Really poor breakfast. Plus side good location, but do avoid booing this place.
Don't stay, lots of other choices.

We were a group of 10 people - 9 rooms booked. When we went to check in the manager said we didn't have a booking, he smelled of alcohol. They put is in another hotel. When we went to check out they tried to charge one of us for a dirty towel, we refused. Very very untrustworthy place to stay, Their main market is mass Chinse tour groups. We think they bumped our rooms for them. Breakfast awful. My first 0/10

Visited as part of package and while room was ok the food was really poor. Mass catering for chinese coach tours with synthetic and tasteless food-breakfast no better. Would avoid and stay somewhere else

We came as part of a package. From outside, the hotel looks nice. However, when we got into the room, the phone was not working, we couldn’t contact reception, couldn’t order room service. When I asked the receptionist, he said “yeah maybe the phone is broken” and did not offer any solutions. I said I wanted to order room service at around 9, he said “what do you want to eat? The chef is going home”. The worst part was when we checked out. There was a towel which was on the floor, which they claimed to be a face towel. My partner used it for his pants and shoes to clean the mud. They asked us to pay for it as they would not be able to wash it off. My partner went to wash it off himself. It was cleaned. I told them about an used condom that was in the room when we checked in. Why didn’t we get an apology? But was asked to pay for a dirty towel or wash it ourselves? Unacceptable service. Will not recommend or come back.

Stayed for 1 night. Twin room, big, AMAZING view from veranda.

WiFi free and good. No bar as such. Vietnamese breakfast at extra cost but very cheap.

Tommy was fantastic, beds really comfortable. Vietnam stations on flat screen TV. A/c good and quiet.

Downsides? Not much, hotel was a little cold but I was there in January!

Would recommend for some relaxation before the hard trekking starts in the mountains.

We have requested for better hotel in Sapa Valley for comfort. We were given 2 rooms in the new block over looking a part of valley. The view from the balcony was nice but not that spectacular. However, the room is not clean and there are unfinished job everywhere in the hotel. There are wiring/cables hanging around.

To make thing worse, our booking has included meals of breakfast, lunch & dinner but when we asked for it, the hotel staff claimed that this was not communicated to them. We have to call the tour agency each time when we want to have our meal. This is wasting time.

Staff are generally very polite.

It was a decent stay in this hotel. Food was good and it's worth to stay here. Location is good and quiet place without the construction around. Overall is a good experienced among all those boutique hotel around.
