Lovely home made shortbread in the room.

Two night stay
Pros:

Location edge of Dartmoor moor
Breakfast very good selection
Could have given more beans
Sauces not readily available
Fruit juice & yoghurts superb
Bed comfortable and very clean room
Toiletries really nice
Homemade biscuits & quality teas and coffee.
Allowing dogs in the breakfast room.

Cons:

I know it was exceptional hot weather the room was very hot and very difficult to cool down With no air on and fans did not work.

Climbing over the bath having to hold the toilet to get in and out for a shower. Not what I expected to do. Very dangerous for older people.

Carpet in the hotel worn.

Pipe going across the top step going to the room I was worried I would knock it.

Pros:

Staff were lovely, very friendly and helpful. Great being able to take my dog and the welcome pack for her was very thoughtful. We had dinner both evenings which was delicious . The rooms are very nice, super comfortable bed. The parking was very near and reasonable. Excellent butchers, pasty was one of the nicest I had had for a long time, nice little grocers as well. Great base for exploring.

Cons:

Moretonhampstead itself is a bit run down.

Pros:

Heerlijke Engelse entourage met vroendelijk personeel. Goede keuken, gezellige bar en lounge en leuk buitenterras.

Cons:

Overpriced and disappointing
Pros:

Mortenhampstead is a lovey little town great village shop Zero, beautiful church and fantastic gallery.

Breakfast at the hotel was nice , staff helpful. Beds were OK, very hot, but couldn't open the window because of the street noise.
Nice white towels..

Cons:

The White Hart is in the centre of town and it was very noisy in the room. Room 6, probably the worst room in the hotel. No view as I'd expected, just loads of noise from the traffic outside right on the junction, it was really intense, althoughit did calm down overnight.
For the price £140 a night, I expected much better.
Bathroom was up two high steps, and the door knob was unpleasantly grubby and sticky, ventilation was.. open the moldy window onto the street.
Dinner was steak and ale pie, i had to hunt for the steak and their recommended Merlot was rubbish.
