Comfortable room, staff very helpful and friendly, food very good, ambiance of the place very pleasant.
A great value for money, a traditional inn with great food, breakfast and a welcoming staff
No hair-dryer in the room
Breakfast was really good and set us up for the day, staff were super cheerful and polite, every morning even Ernie (Daxie) got a sausage for breakfast. We really enjoyed the Eggs Royal and American Pancakes. Our bedroom was massive and the bed was very comfortable, we had to turn the heating off and open the window as it was super warm on arrival. We ate in the restaurant both nights of our stay, staff were very efficient and on the Friday night locals were also dining and that added some extra atmosphere, its a nice cheery room. I wasn't blown away by the food, but it was tasty enough and super convenient to eat there after a long day out on the moors. The location was great for visiting both Dartmoor and the coast line. I only choose the hotel because it allowed dogs, however we all really enjoyed our stay there and would go back and stay again.
It would have been great if there was free parking close to the hotel, but to be fair it was super easy to use the app to pay for the carpark on the corner and reasonably price at less than 10 for 48 hours.
Rooms really nice and had little touches such as cookies, Sky and decent WiFi.
Staff were extremely helpful and friendly.
Evening food and breakfast lovely
Nothing
Great location, staff very friendly. Food was great. Nice to have the bar at the restaurant separate always nice and warm.
The bed was very comfortable.
Our bedroom was lovely and comfortable, but the window glass had blown so unable to see the beautiful view. The shower could do with a bit of an update.
The staff were extremely helpful and friendly.
Value for money, nice room

Very friendly and welcoming staff. Clean, well equipped rooms, great bar and lovely breakfast.
Right in the centre of town. Very dog friendly.
No parking on site but only a few mins walk to public parking area.
Lovely clean room, great view, excellent hotel facilities, friendly and efficient staff. Shower was particularly good. Some really nice touches that made it feel special. Can't fault it.
The staff were very kind and helpful. It's great value for money and good food, and the location was ideal for touring the region.
Amazing value - even after you have paid for parking in the nearby car park (cash or ringo app, no cards, when we were there). Quite busy in the hotel (at a weekend) as a result but that was fine. Our room was in the old bit so creaky floors and very slight noise from the lounge below, room above and traffic in the street. Delicious dinner and good breakfast. cheerful and helpful staff. comfortable bed.
all good
