Hotel Hemadan

A lovely quiet family run hotel with very helpful staff. It's an older rustic building with a clean room comfortable bed with a mosquito net. Nice garden a large water monitor came for a visit whilst I was having my breakfast the food both dinner and breakfast was good. Great value for money.

It's a lovely quiet rustic hotel situated on the river. The staff were lovely the room was very basic but very clean and the food was delicious. Great value for money.

Unfortunately this place is in desperate need of investment. The kerb appeal is very good but the jetty for example is falling into the river and not as pictured. The room wasn't very clean which is a great pity as the owner is very friendly. The food was lovely, we had both Breakfast and evening meals and could not fault them.
It just a great shame that it is not as good as it could be. If the owner makes a investment in his property he could definitely charge more to stay.

This is a wonderful place for a holiday in Bentota.
Location is perfect, right on the water, friendly, helpful staff and reasonable prices.

Sehr gutes und freundliches Personal und auch der Manager. Es sind alle auch sehr hilfsbereit.
Das Frühstück war in Ordnung.
Manche Zimmer sind allerdings renovierungsbedürftig. Wir haben das Zimmer getauscht weil die Wände ziemlich feucht waren was man auch gerochen hat.
Es wurde aber sofort das Zimmer getauscht und es gab ein Update mit Klimaanlage.
Es waren im Endeffekt schöne Tage im Hemadan.
Ich kann mit Einschränkung empfehlen

The Breakfast was good & enough to start the day. The Manager was very helpful & friendly. He arranged a taxi to take us to the airport at a very fair price. He was also able to let us stay in our room after checkout time for an extra few hours at no extra cost.

Lovely gardens right on the river

Location is superb with a garden down to the river, but sadly the hotel needs a big cash injection to avoid being left behind. The potential is huge if there is investment in better beds and upgraded bathrooms, and more stylish restaurant furniture.
I really hope they can achieve this and then be able to charge more to recoup the costs.

Hotel Hemadan's biggest draws is its location. Right on Bentota River, guests can enjoy stunning views and easy access to boat trips and water sports. The Bentota beach is just a short walk or a short boat shuttle ride away. While not a luxury resort, the hotel's friendly atmosphere, range of amenities, and proximity to the beach make it a great choice for budget-conscious travelers and families.
The rooms are simple and comfortable, while the bathroom needs a bit of renovation. Also the Wi-Fi was slow most of the times.
Overall, I would recommend Hotel Hemadan to anyone looking for a comfortable and affordable place to stay in Bentota.

The hotel is very authentic and their food is yummy! The best srilankan dinner we had! The room are old but thats fine.. the staff is awesome and the owners so friendly.. they have a stunning seating with a wonderful view for lunch or dinnner and their breakfast is yummy

A quiet unassuming hotel on the Bentota River in Aluthgama. The service was excellent, the food good and the breakfast exceptional. My room was ideal, clean and fresh with a small balcony.
The staff were always ready to provide the best service.

It was our first hotel on our trip to Sri Lanka.
We felt really welcomed here. The owner and stuff did everything to make our stay nice and relaxing!
They also offered really delicious vegan options for breakfast and dinner!!
The room was nice and offered enough space for two people!

The owner and his son were excellent hosts with a fantastic group of staff. Nothing was too much for anyone at the hotel during our stay and we were made to feel special guests. The hotel has great views of the lagoon and we had a wonderful breakfast every morning on the jetty. The balcony from our room also overlooked the lagoon allowing us to comfortably relax there. Everywhere was clean and we also had a mosquito net for our bed. The food in the restaurant was exceptional and we were also treated to fresh produce from the garden. The hotel was within easy walking distance of the beaches at Bentota, the bars and restaurants of Aluthgama and the Aluthgama train station.

A wonderful place to stay with fantastic hosts. I would strongly recommend a stay at this hotel!

I was leaving here 2 months with big pleasure. It's a family cosy hotel and Beer garden restaurant. It's conveniently located in quiet place on first line of Bentota river and in 10 min. by walk to Bentota beach, in 5 min by walk to the center of the town with markets, shops, bus/railway station ect. I enjoyed everything Hotel Hemadan has to offer: big clear room, good service, strong security, delicious European fresh food, convenient location, magnificent river view from the well-kept garden with flowers, palms, soft grass and sunbeds on it, free boat 3min. transfer to the ocean beach directly from the hotel's small pier. You can see wonderful sunsets, moon walks on the river's surface during having a meal from restaurant's garden. Also I've liked to watch the big gold carps in the pond there.
And the main reason of highly recommendation to visit this place is extremely helpfulness and hospitality of friendly owners. I felt like ''one of the family'' from the early beginning. They went out of their way to look after me. I very much appreciate!
I would definitely like to return!

The garden has a great view with the river right outside. The staff was really friendly and the service was good. I went on day out so i can not give an opinion on the breakfast and dinner. However the lunch was good. The portions were more than enough and the taste was good as well. The room we had was good. The wash room, bed and AC were working properly. Overall there were no major issues and and for the price we paid, it was a great experience. I would definitely come back.
