Bloody good
Shower was difficult to operate
No lift.
Sehr gutes Nachtessen. Freundliches Personal.
Der Zimmerpreis ist viel zu hoch. Die Zimmer sind schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen.
Staff very helpful. Room perfect - large clean and comfortable. Breakfast very good. Liked their efforts to become greener, doing away with small plastic bottles of shampoo etc. Also proving fresh milk in reusable flask.
The staff at The Tongue Hotel was extraordinary. Always after my comfort and best interest. Great place to stay. In high season, parking could be an issue. Dinner/chef terrific. Breakfast good. I'd stay at the Tongue Hotel again.
It's a reasonable hotel in a remote location where there is not much choice of accommodation.
Menu was slightly misleading (prawn crackers supposed to be part of curry dish, but none available and apparently no intention of serving them). Staff a bit disinterested and uninformed (3.8% is not a low alcohol beer). Other guests were complaining over breakfast service.
Excellent staff and great food
Cosy hotel on the NC500. Room, bar, food all good. Packed lunch available if required.
This was the most expensive of the seven hotels that we used on the NC500.
We stayed at Tongue Hotel during our NC500 trip and, overall, had a very enjoyable stay. The food was excellent throughout, the staff were friendly and welcoming, and the location is fantastic for exploring the north coast. The atmosphere of the hotel was relaxed and comfortable, and we genuinely enjoyed our time there.
Unfortunately, the stay was overshadowed somewhat by a disappointing pricing experience. Due to an administrative issue, our bill was consolidated with that of friends travelling with us, which revealed that we had paid substantially more for an objectively inferior room with a poorer view and fewer facilities.
I fully understand that hotels use dynamic pricing, and I do not expect every guest to pay the same rate. However, the scale of the disparity was difficult to reconcile, particularly given the clear difference in room quality.
I raised the matter politely with management after the stay. While the responses were courteous, the hotel relied entirely on explaining the pricing model rather than acknowledging the guest experience outcome or offering any meaningful goodwill gesture.
It is a very good hotel overall, but this aspect unfortunately left a sour taste.
Clean and tidy. Staff friendly. Nice room.
Menu is not as good as the sister hotel in Brora .
Location suited us.
Room was a good size
Expensive, would expect more for the price. Hotel beginning to look a little worn.
No milk for cereal at breakfast despite asking twice. I thought I’d paid for breakfast but it only included continental- which was slim pickings. To pay for anything cooked on top would have made it very expensive.
On the menu it said sourdough but all we got was sliced white.
Was woken at 02.05am with a good 15 mins of scrabbling coming from above???? Rather disconcerting!!
The highlands comes through with another winner
Food was amazing the staff were very helpful and friendly. The room OMG beautiful and roomy the bed was amazingly comfortable the experience there I’ll be definitely booking this one in again 10/10
