Pleasant stay but very poor value for money!

The room was OK. The staff were helpful. The dinner and breakfast were very good.

Cons:

The Tongue hotel was one of ten hotels/B&B's/Guest Houses we stayed at during our week N.C. 500 Tour. Our one night stay was pleasant but extremely poor value for money. The price for the accommodation, dinner, bed and breakfast was 4 times higher than the next most expensive hotel we stayed at.....and that hotel was vastly superior to The Tongue in every respect. Parking was limited and significantly distant from Reception. Access to reception was tricky, partly due to its distant location and partly to the fact that it was hard to locate (no signs to and an underwhelming entrance!)

Pros:

Sehr schönes Hotel mit super Aussicht. Tolles Frühstück und Abendessen. Sehr freundliches Personal. Auf unserem Zimmer stand sogar Likör zur Verkostungen bereit. Parken direkt am Hotel.

Beautifully updated hotel fitting of the location.
Pros:

The staff were amazing and very attentive. The hotel is well maintained and rooms wonderful, well appointed and clean.

Cons:

The walk way up to front door is gravel making it difficult to roll our luggage into the hotel.

If you visit the Highlands, you have to stay here!
Pros:

This is a fantastic hotel with a lot of history and a perfectly presented Highlands style. The staff went out of their way to make our stay special, even ensuring that we had the best table for dinner. The food was some of the best we had in Scotland as well, and as one would expect, their selection of single malt scotches was excellent.

Cons:

I don't think there is anything you could have done to make the stay any better.

Lovely stay
