Heerlijk verblijf in oude Engelse herberg
Pros:

De gastvrije ontvangst in de historische herberg. Prima pub food, aardig personeel, leuke kamer met hemelbed

Comfortable hotel/ pub - nice atmosphere, good customer care and good food
Pros:

It is an olde world character pub restaurant in the middle of Chattris. Very central location and it had parking at the back.
My room had a four poster bed which was very comfy - and a en-suite and was comfortable. I appreciated the fan also in the hot weather. If you like old character rooms to stay on - it definitely has that .
The staff were very helpful and made me feel very welcome - good customer care.
Food was good range pub food - freshly prepared as was the breakfast in morning.

Cons:

The only thing I would mention is the stairs are very steep. I was fine with them and staff offered to help me on both occasions of my arrival and departure if I had needed help.
But for someone with mobility issues it could be a challenge.
It is right on the main road but it does have secondary glazing - I didn’t find I was disturbed by noise outside but I always travel with ear plugs.

A comfortable stay !
Pros:

There was a friendly welcome to a pub full of comfortable chairs and quirky memorabilia. The beer was good, the food enjoyable. The pub dates back to the 1300s and there is an ancient well.

A comfortable place to return to.

Excellent pub, excellent beer, lovely room with a great breakfast, other meals were also very good!
Pros:

Excellent pub, with 2 great ales available (plus other choices we didn't try) Staff are lovely and fun. Room was lovely, enough pillows/bedding and a fan which was required as hot when we stayed. Breakfast was excellent, given a choice of exactly what we did and didn't want so no wastage (managed to eat everything!)

Cons:

Car parking was a bit tricky, fortunately was able to find a space on the quiet street nearby.

Our overnight stay was OK. But without too much effort could have been made better
Pros:

Good cooked breakfast. Nice friendly bar area. Excellent evening meal.

Cons:

Car park full of junk, which restricted the parking space available. Outside area very untidy and does not create a good impression of the pub. Bedroom decor looked a bit tired. Lots of steps/ tripping hazards for older people.

On a previous stay (18/12/2024) the allocated room had been used as a store room and was full of boxes. Once emptied the bed was very small and uncomfortable. Rebooked over a year later in error & tried to cancel but no response from hotel, either via Booking.com or direct email. Rude
