Huangshan International Hotel

The hotel sort of sits on it's own but it's only a short walk to the Old City of Huangshan. There is a lovely garden in the foyer and plenty of sitting room to just sit and chat or catch up on things. The rooms are good and their breakfast has something for anyone from any country.

Pleasant and quiet setting. Good service and reception personel had decent English. Breakfast was not bad but not as rich as we got used in China. The room entertainment and AirConditioner are not very friendly to foreigners (labelled only in Chinese).

The hotel had a nice lobby and the reception staff were helpful and attentive. The room we were given had very little natural light (due to it’s location within the building) and had a damp smell. Overall the room was comfortable and there was ample coffee (which is always a must!).
The one thing that lets the hotel down most of all is the breakfast. Of all the hotels we stayed in in China (excepting the Beihai Hotel which scored 1/5) this was the worst breakfast. The quality was poor and the choice for the western palate was limited. The coffee was appalling and the juice was obviously watered down. The seating arrangements were badly organised and it was a challenge to find any cutlery.
The location is great for visiting the Tunxi ancient street and is easily walkable. We took a taxi back to the hotel from the street and it only cost about £1 for 4 people.
Would I stay again? Possibly, but I’d go out for breakfast and ensure I asked for a room with full daylight.

A really nice clean hotel and a good standard. All staff were polite professional and spoke good English.

The room was nicely laid out and a good size with tea/coffee facilities and air conditioning. The bed was comfortable if a little harder but nice enough.

The only area for improvement would be breakfast service we went down about 8.30 and the hot food was pretty cold as I think it had been there for a while. Everything is really spread out and you eat in what looks like a conference room. Overall though there are options for all palates just not that hot.

This hotel is a good option for exploring Huangshan as it is only a 10 minute walk into the town or £1 in a taxi!!

Nice size room with some chairs. The bed was pretty firm, more firm than usual, but still comfortable. The room had in-room safe, slippers, robes, complimentary bottled water, free wifi. There was a wall mounted DVD player connected to the TV.
Eastern style breakfast was disappointing in limited selections not at 4 star.

This trip is a trip to check off my bucket list, as i May not be able to do this in another 5 years, so check this off NOW.
This hotel is in HuangShan city before going to Mount Huangshan.
The hotel itself is nice, normal China breakfast, close to HuangShan ancient town, Xi’an river front hotel, HuangShan city bus station, and close to Hongcun college.
Nice friendly staff except the bar server at night. She will tell u to go next door cuz she is busy.

Nice hotel, with a lovely superior room with two beds. Very spacious with a desk, set up as a room divider to create a separate space, like a mini-suite. All the amenities, including a separate tub and a shower big enough for 4 people! Robes and slippers provided, plus bottled water. Our room was well-appointed and did not look tired at all. Lots of room for luggage. If you have the option of having breakfast elsewhere, I would take it. The breakfast buffet looks great, and the dining room is lovely, but as another reviewer had mentioned, nothing is warm on the buffet, and we were there at 6:30 a.m. If you want hot food, you have to stick to the fried eggs, soup, and the little wheat and pork biscuits next to the fried egg station. If you are only a cold cereal eater, you will be fine.

Friendly, helpful staff. Great location for traveling from Shanghai to Huangshan City (close to the bus and train station, also about 20 minutes from the high speed train terminal). Decent location for getting to Huangshan Mountain, but expensive if taking taxis (~$30 each way). Make sure to book return train ticket to Shanghai in advance, they fill up!

Stayed three nights , must have the hardest beds in China, when requested Coffee after dinner was offered green tea & told they did not serve coffee. We fully understand staff not being able to speak English.For our convience drinks in Chinese where followed by English. But it's no good requesting a Gin & a vodka when the staff haven't been trained to read a bottle. The staff had no idea which was Gin because a bottle of Gordon's says Gin in English. Very frustrating.TRAIN YOUR STAFF !

The hotel is located just a kilometre from the old town and is a very good hotel with large, quiet rooms. The beds are large and comfortable and we slept well. The air conditioner was difficult to work out as there were no symbols, just Chinese characters so a bit of trial and error was necessary. The room had a bath which was nice for a change.

Breakfast was very basic and as usual none of the heaters under the food were working so ALL the food was cold. So much for food security.

Wifi was fast and free.

We stayed here for a couple of nights in October. We wanted to go to the Yellow Mountain and Maya on the front desk (I think this was her name) was so lovely and helpful. We know only a few phrases in Chinese and she went out of her way to help us - we got a taxi to the bus station and caught a bus up to the Mountain area. The hotel staff are all friendly, I am gluten free coeliac and through my phrase app I was able to order meals with the help of the restaurant staff who again were very understanding, plenty of choice at breakfast, The room wasn’t overlooking the river, but adequate, clean and the beds were comfortable, yes a little hard but I slept well. Thouroughly enjoyed the Mountains and the next day they let us have an extension on our room as we had a 10.30pm flight, which enabled us to relax and wander the 10 minutes down to the old town and potter about looking at all the shops. Not the grandest hotel, but the hospitality certainly makes up for it and for me it is more important to feel comfortable and welcomed. Thank you to all the staff.

Stayed here for two nights as part of Sinorama China tour. At first you think wow with an impressive entrance, bar area, escalator up to the first floor. Rooms were spacious with roomy bathroom. However on closer look it is very tired. There was damp patches running down the walls and on the carpet by the glass window between the bathroom and bedroom. The bed was very hard but I actually slept very well. The breakfast was of good quality with some western choices.
The location was great, 10-15 minute walk to the old town market and shopping area, be careful of all motorbikes. When you get to the bridge by the town turn right, across the bridge then bear left, here you’ll find nice bars and good quality street market food. If you turn left at the bridge you’ll find authentic restaurants and the upmarket old town.

We have had a few hard beds in our many travels but this one wins the award. Oddly enough it wasn't all that bad to sleep on. The bathroom was a good size but poorly cleaned with mould in the corners and under the sink.
Breakfast was good with a nice selection of food available.
There is a Nice lounge area next to reception to relax in and have a drink after an outing but for some reason we had to ask for the Air Cond. to be turned on despite the very hot weather. Beer was cheap as usual and wine not too dear by the bottle compared to some other places in China.
Similar to most Hotels we stayed at its a shame that Staff do not have much or any English.

The hotel is large and has a lot of tour buses, which will give you an idea of the type of hotel it is. Rooms are comfortable, and fairly clean, although I did have a leggy spider in my bath! Breakfast is OK but heavily biased towards the local Chinese cuisine, not a problem, just bear this in mind if you think you might want a few western food items. The hotel is around 10 minutes walk from the old street which has plenty of shops, a few bars and a number of restaurants worth a look. Reasonable hotel on a budget for the start of any mountain trip. Personally I would spend a bit more and find something else and I would also recommend walking to the local restaurants for better choice and quality of food.

This is an unmemorable large tour group hotel with little charm. The staff were efficient and the rooms dated but clean. The beds were hard and the corridors smelt odd.Breakfast was plentiful without being tempting. Everything advertised was provided.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights with our tour group. Our bed was clean although the bed itself was very hard but I did sleep alright. The bathroom needed a good clean as there was mould in the shower and 2 rubber mats for the shower and the bath were black with mould. I also found the air conditioning very cold and I could not adjust it. Breakfast was a good choice of the local cuisine but nothing much in the way of a western breakfast. The carpet could have done with a good clean.

My family of 4 stayed for 2 nights at this hotel in 2 deluxe twin rooms.

Con:
- guest rooms had a non-smoking sign next to a glass ashtray and box of matches but guest were all smoking in the hallways right outside our rooms
- found a huge stink bug in our room on the ceiling
- breakfast areas was huge, very busy and chaotic

Really old

The hotel was nice. Breakfast was good. The staff at checkout seemed to be stressed. I don't know what happened since I don't speak chinese but the clerk was upset with our guide. overall pretty standard hotel for the price.
