Overall not too bad but air-conditioner has a dial to adjust but the temperature remains way too hot!
Jianguo hotel exceeded my expectations. I found my hotel room to be very clean and extremely comfortable. The revolving restaurant on the top floor is beautiful. The buffet breakfast which was inclusive in our price was delicious. Location is great if you enjoy shopping. At night it turns into a mini Tokyo. The only negative is that the non English speaking receptionist might be an issue.
We stayed here one night.
Rooms and bathrooms are really nice. Vey clean hotel that.
We had a very early train and staff was nice enough to prepare breakfast packages to go. Only complain was no iron in the room. But staff sent one up.
Does not appear to be five star hotel. The room rates are a bit high for the quality of the rooms compared to the room rates in other countries in Asia.
Staff are friendly and helpful and have great difficulty in speaking in english.
In geheral the hotel is clean, but toilet fittings look a bit old.
I have been staying at this hotel for at least 5 times over the past 4 years. It used to be owned by Jinjiang Group. Now it is owned by ATAHOTELS. The guest service appears to be deteriorating. 8 am the maid comes into the room without even ringing the bell or knocking the door. In-room Wifi works unreliably, and the hotel staff doesnt seem to care. Breakfast service is so-so.
One of the oldest hotel in the city. It is old style catering to many chinese business travelers. One would argue if it is worth the 5star experience. The amenities are a bit old compared to other 5 stars in the city but the location is very good and the staff is very friendly. The breakfast is not for international travelers. One can walk to the line 1 metro in 3 minutes and be in the city center 4 stops away for 2 yuan. Which is great ! I would like to experience staying in other places though, but this hotel name is such that for the business travelers, it makes the chinese feel awe for the place. Go for it if you want to live in a calm and clean place and have close proximity to the metro and the city center.
Rated as a 5* hotel but wondering if that is true.
The beds are comfy, the bathrooms are tiny, the breakfast is ok, the cleaners wake you up at 8am to clean even if the do not disturb sign is on, but surely 8am is too early to start anyway, the pool is a bit grotty but all the staff seem friendly enough.
Although one of our company had a cockroach in his bathroom and bugs in his bed!
We were here for 3 nights, it's not 5* as we would expect it to be.
The hotel was comfortable and clean, but seemed overpriced for the service and the market. Taxi rides from the airport werew 160-200 RMB (200 if you used the hotel's service). I ordered room service and the food was bad. If coming to Zhengzhou for business, it is a fine choice.
Stayed at this hotel for 6 nights last week. The hotel is pretty much centrally located. It is a 5 Star hotel with almost every amenity you should need for a business stay. The rooms are decent sized and well decorated, the service is immaculate, the staff very friendly and above all, excellent VFM.
Just to quote an example of how good the service is, while check-in, i enquired if they can provide vegetarian diet for breakfast, the staff at the desk said she will revert back to me. In less than 30 mins., the asst. manager Eric, calls me and tells me that they have arranged for special vegetarian diet for breakfast for all of my 6 days stay. That is what I call personalized service.
I'd surely stay at this hotel, each time I'm in Zhengzhou for sure.
Stayed here for three nights. The hotel is clean in general, and actually has everything you might need in a hotel. However, the bathroom is small, where the tub and the toilette is placed together.
The supplements such as shampoo and shower gel in the bathroom are cheap stuffs from the hotel. The breakfast buffet although includes many local dishes ,it still is average in quality. Not only the juice is not freshly squeezed, but also the coffee served to the table is not warm enough. If I myself could have the chance to book the hotel here, I would have chosen other place with international reputation.
we had been to an exhibition catf2010,wherein we were staying with XINGYA JIANGUO HOTEL.
the hotel is located in a prime location close to the exhibition center. All the major banks are loacted just next to it. It is close to the shopping centers too. location wise good.
the hotel rooms are excellent with wifi and broad band connectivity. The food is also great with lots of variety. Hospitality is excellent. All the reception people are generous, kind and helping. Great hosiptality.
Its worth the price to stay here. You will surely enjoy your stay.
rooms are nice but the location is too far. it is in the middle of nowhere at present (new town bit). it's not very good value when compared to other hotels in the city.
what i wanted to say more is their service. we were checking the map out to see where we should head to and there came conceirge saying that they can arrange a car for us and gave us a quote and kept saying at this time of the day u can't get a car and u can't get it cheaper etc etc. we took the car in the end as we don't want to bother arranging it ourselves but we know that they ripped us off quite a lot. not something i would expect in the nowadays china as they tried to clamp down on these kind of 'malpractices' esp after the olympics.
we were at their restaurant for a late brunch and it took them more than 30 mins to prepare their food coz they were busy preparing the buffet service so our food arrived stone cold. not pleased. i paid with a credit card and they actually don't know how to use the machine?? that afternoon tea costed me 300RMB (a lot for china) and i am definitely not pleased given the quality of the service.
when we ordered breakfast it was quite clear that we ordered a congee and an english breakfast so it's quite clear that 2 people wanting to have different kind of breakfast. but they prepared 2 portions of each so it's 2 congee and 2 english breakfast - i don't know if they are genuinely too attentive or they are trying to rip us off, i will let you decide.
Zhengzhou itself seems very much like a town without a heart and soul. There are new buildings cropping up everywhere, but little else. The Xingya Jianguo Hotel is located in quite potentially the most lifeless part of the city (at least at this stage as more buildings are almost complete). The hotel is dated but comfortable. The bathrooms are in desperate need of some TLC, but the rooms are large and the service is good. There were enough staff that spoke english (or part thereof). The free wireless internet in the lobby and free wired internet in the rooms was much appreciated!
I do need to mention again about the location though. About 2kms up the road is the heart of the city and where most other hotels are, and I'd certainly recommend staying in one of these as proximity to restaurants and bars is much better. Another little tip, the hotel recommended we go the the V8 bar for a few drinks, but when we got there all they sell is drinks by the bottle, not the glass. A bottle of Bacardi Rum would have been more than $100 (US) and consider there were only 2 of us, it isn't good value!
