Location was lovely , staff were very helpful. Was an extremely hot evening and they tried really hard to find a comfortable room for me
Mould on the windowsill in the first room I was given was not good to see
Delightfully off the beaten track this hotel offers great food and a stunning location beside the lakes of the River Ouse. Lovely tables outside and good food. Views of the open fens and the boats in the Pike and Eel boat club. Comfortable modern rooms with private entrances, plenty of onsite parking.
Nothing
The service and the staff.
I don't think the breakfast was worth £15.00
Overall good
Not WiFi network
Friendly helpful staff. Clean room. Lovely riverside location
Excellent location, good food and service.
It's a lovely location on the banks of the River Ouse with easy access to river walks and nature reserves. Classic English Breakfast was generous and freshly made. Restaurant is spacious and has lovely views out towards the river. Mostly pleasant and helpful staff. Dogs can be accommodated in a limited number of rooms on the ground floor and annex.
There is a problem when booking with a pet (dog). Although listed as dog-friendly, with a booking system that allows a full choice of rooms, there are restrictions on where guests can stay with a dog and places are limited. We booked and paid for a room that was not dog-friendly and so the actual allocation did not match the room we paid for. A notice to this effect is only available after the room has been booked and paid for (non-refundable). In the event, we were given a room but it was pretty spartan, with hard floors and plain fittings, a bit like putting a bed in a posh kennel. Staff were apologetic but the whole operation seemed a bit amateurish. We had to wait for a night porter to open up on arrival (9:30 on Sunday eve) so no proper check-in or information. When servicing the room, they took away our towels without replacing them (we had to ask at the bar for replacements) and the breakfast was really basic on the second day with no milk, juices or bread laid out and the toaster not working properly. So, it was ok and we were given a free breakfast to compensate for a mis-allocated room but i would only stay again if I could book directly. On the last morning we had hoped to leave at 10am but were effectively forced out early by a worker drilling holes in the concrete just outside our door. Inconsiderate and crass.
Food good staff friendly and helpful nice areas to sit and hood ale 🍺
Nothing
Nice location
No ac
Great location and very friend and welcoming staff
That the bar and restaurant closed early on the Sunday
Great location on the river
Poor choice of food on the evening ( bank holiday ??)
Location
Noisy in the afternoon with the bar/restaurant patrons.
On the website it states that dogs are free of charge yet we were charged £15 for ours.
The staff are excellent, I would tell anyone to stay their, very well kept rooms and the staff are always around to help if need be, and the food is lovely, I won't stay anywhere else when I'm in the local area.
Thd hotel and the surroundings were fantastic right on the river bank and open countryside.
The only 1 complaint we had was the other side of the river was public land and the night we stayed there were people having a loud party and very loud music until about 2am wich was annoying as it was a hot day so you needed the windows open.this dose not reflect the hotel though as its out of there control
The location
The general cleanliness of the room was not good lots of spider webs on the ceiling and lights the shower had pink bacteria stains the bed was very low and uncomfortable the general furnishings were low quality and curtains poor the room windows were open to everyone who could walk past or you had to close the curtains completely which was quite depressing overall I would not recommend the property
Great location by the river. Good sized room for the price. Separate building for those with dogs which suited us. Good for access to Cambridge and St.Ives. Good selection of drinks in the bar.
Rooms have limited power supplies for charging computers and phones.
The setting is very nice, but a bit out of the way
Breakfast was £15 each, a bit excessive. Being in a building away from the hotel, not good if it’s raining.
