Lovely hotel. Great room. Really friendly staff and oatcakes on the menu -yummy!
Close to the lake for a lovely walk.
Nothing
Great location and setting. Easy to find and park.
Big wait times for food and mixed up orders (at breakfast and dinner) were the biggest let downs.
Room was spacious and comfy but not the cleanest. WiFi signal didn't stretch to our room which meant the TV didn't work.
Lovely breakfast. Friendly staff. Great location for the lake.
Advice - Approach hotel from Leek-Macclesgied road. Other direction has hilly road, narrow in parts.
Size of the rooms were generous in our cottage. Great location.
No toaster in the little kitchen.
Beautifully set near the edge of the lake, this delightfully old fashioned but well appointed hotel offers immediate access to the railway, the lake, hire boats and some delightful walks and drives.
Last minute orders at the Sunday carvery may not be so good. But huge credit to the manager and staff, I was immediately reimbursed and enjoyed free drinks too.
When something goes wrong, it’s the response of staff that turns a disappointment into a great evening. These guys delivered a brilliant response and we had a great evening.
Relaxing surroundings and views
Bar closed early no hot drinks available told the machine was turned off for cleaning before 10PM.
Staff very helpful

Beautiful location, lots of space in cottage with family of four, great beer garden, space to play cricket on the lawn
The location.
The breakfast was inadequate, not enough choice of cereals etc Who ever cooks the breakfast hot food doesn't do it well. I have had much better in other hotels and B & B s.
Breakfast excellent, Location good
Room spacious.
The location
The room was very dusty
Mattress was very warn and could feel the springs when you moved.
The location is a 5 minute walk to the lake. , the staff we met were very good and helpful. The hotel has everything you need for an overnight stay but Leek is 10 minutes away with a lovely town square and numerous pubs and restaurants
Another chair is the room would be nice but the lovely window seat was a bonus
Fantastic location, nice room, great drinks choices and lovely food. The staff were very friendly.
Lovely gardens and outside areas. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.
Room was big and beds comfortable
Overall a lovely place!
TV remote didn’t work, so had to fiddle with controls on the back to make anything work. Never did manage to switch it off though!
Room was a strange layout and breakfast took ages to come!!
