WARNING: THIS HOTEL IS CLOSE RIGHT NOW (NOVEMBER 30TH 2020).
So be careful, on all internets website you can book rooms even though it is closed.
I wanted to book it, but then I’ve try to call many times to book also a table at the restaurant, but I couldn’t reach anyone, and all numbers were no longer assigned…
So I called the town hall, and they said it is closed and the place is for sale, and the said do not book it.
Hope it will save you from losing money.
Otherwise, when it will open again… it’s a magnificent place to go (but make sure it is open).
Endroit merveilleux

This is wonderful hotel with kind and generous staff.
Set in a beautiful location there are some good walks among the vineyards and in the local area.
We had a beautiful suite (an upgrade for a special price) with a very comfortable bed. There are however a few things the management need to correct: too much design and not enough functionality. If you plug in all the lights there are no sockets to charge anything with: this is especially troublesome if you are using your laptop at the desk. The bathroom has no shelf to put your toiletry bag on: it has to be precariously balanced on the basin. Worst of all the cupboards need a special pole to hang your clothes and even then are not long enough to accommodate a coat or a longish dress. Finally there are no hooks in the entrance on which to hang coats. All of these are minor irritations but should be rectified to make a perfect room.
We took the wine tasting and the cookery class which were both great experiences. The cooking was especially brilliant. Chef Gabrielle, who has worked in Alain Ducasse and Joel Robluchon restaurants, taught my wife to make two delicious dishes which were served in a private room by Maître D Aline. Both of these gentlemen are to be commended for their talent and kindness.
Finally I must mention receptionist Evis who was so helpful before and during our stay in arranging the room and things to do. She was brilliant.
All in all we had a wonderful four day stay.
My wife and I were excited about staying in a castle. It’s located in the small village of Parella. It’s accessed via some challenging narrow streets.
On arrival we got a fantastic welcome from Avis at reception. We were able to unload our bags before moving our car to the hotels secured and free car park. Avis took a lot of time to explain the hotel facilities plus options in the area. She provided us with various brochures to help further. We also enjoyed a glass of white wine produced on site. She also recommended and booked us into an outstanding nearby restaurant - see my review of it separately.
Our room was one of the 10 located in the main Castle. The other rooms are close by in the converted stables
There’s an excellent bar with a well trained and friendly bartender. Together with the drinks there was always an excellent and varied plate of snacks.
One of the days we did a 40 km ebike ride through the nearby countryside and up into the hills passing a couple of beautiful mountain lakes and many cute villages. We found the ride a bit rushed but still enjoyable
We also had a fascinating tour of the castle and learned a little about the amazing and ongoing restoration and development works
One evening we had a wine tasting in their stunning wine cellar. Excellent wines and accompanying food.
The on-site restaurant is good for daytime and evening meals
You need a car to get the most of this area. There’s a lot to see and do around the castle.
The rooms are very spacious with very high ceilings. It’s also a very quiet setting and the blackout blinds do a great job
The breakfasts are pretty basic but adequate
Overall we loved this hotel.
Enjoy a fantastic experience in the mountains of northern Italy...delicious wine, exceptional rooms, manicured gardens, lovely vineyard...an incredible location for a wedding, family gathering or romantic getaway! One of the finest hotel locations we have ever experienced!!
Spend 3 nights at Vistaterra
. The place is amazingly beautiful. The design decoration is unique and really beautiful. The rooms are spaicous and very well designed , high windows high ceiling, modern utilities, .The food is excellent and on our last night the chef came to greet us. olive oils served are amazing . Service is great. Erica who made us a tour for the hotels meeting rooms and etc. was very very customer oriented. to summarize it is a special place not big so is cozy and all provide you great service .
I left this pocket of green beauty yesterday, am still feeling refreshed and can’t stop thinking about the food and wine. Everything was so evocative of the local area. There were salamis and goats cheese in their enotecha from farms they knew the name of, hemp and walnut gnocchi reflected Canavese’s return from industry to the land, (Cana means hemp), pike perch from the lake I walked round, a peachy mineral white was from the vineyard outside the window. The orange sorbet (so good I had two) lead to a conversation about the carnival at nearby Ivrea with the fierce orange battles which sounded terrific fun and I was sorry to miss. Each night we slept under natural linen and frescos, which summed up this historic castle dedicated to nature and sustainable luxury. I liked it.
It is hard to improve on perfection. We stayed here for several nights during a retreat. The food was amazing. The wine pairings perfect. The rooms were amazing. They are installing a spa which will even enhance the location more. There's not a ton to do outside the walls of the castle, so take the time to enjoy the location and relax.
We stay in hotels all over Italy which can be a bit hit or miss. This place was stunning. I will use it as my regular stop off between my houses in England and Italy.
Tolles neues Hotel, hmgute Ausstattung
Beautiful sorrounding,
Stayed for two nights at the beginning of August so peak season and temperature. The main negative for us was that there was no pool- we booked knowing this but in the 38 degree heat it was sorely missed. We were informed there was plans for a lake that could be used for swimming/sitting around etc and when that happens we would happily return whatever the weather but not as it currently stands!
The hotel itself and surrounding grounds are immaculate and stunning, the rooms are very well designed and spotlessly clean although we did have to change rooms our first night due to a fault with the lights not turning off. This was however handled very quickly and professionally despite the late hour.
The hotel is quite easy to find but difficult to locate reception as you need to walk as if you are trying to get into the courtyard to find it. This is because there is no signposting whatsoever which also makes finding the car park difficult (as well as having to ask reception to buzz the gates open!)
We would definitely return once the plans they have in place are complete!
A former private residence which has been lovingly restored into a beautiful historic hotel with everything you need to enjoy a relaxing and romantic stay. Customer service was superb and all of the staff were warm and welcoming. Nacima, Barbara and the rest of the staff were perfect working behind the scenes to ensure a special birthday celebration and wonderful stay. Thank you!
The room was immaculate, spacious and an elegant mix of traditional and contemporary with all modern amenities and luxury toiletries. The caffe' onsite has a lovely seating area outside where you can enjoy the serene surroundings. I would definitely recommend this hotel and can't wait to return.
Vistaterra exceeded my expectations in every way!! The renovation of the castle honors the beauty of its history with high-end, tasteful contemporary touches in a serene environment. The service was exceptional. Staff members were warm and welcoming and made you feel as though they could not do enough to make your stay unforgettable. We ate in one of the restaurants each evening. The food was outstanding in both presentation and flavor. Our four night stay went by far too quickly!!
2 night stay, beautiful hotel and room, if fact couldn't fault the place itself, a couple of criticisms are breakfast disorganised, so much so that requested cooked items came separately and had to ask twice what had happened to the omelette, the quality of the buffet items varied, the jams, cereals and fruit juice was great but the bread rolls had been standing that long that they were inedible.
Check in and check out handled very well, and a brief history of the building was given to us, I would highly recommend this hotel as it is set in some of Italy's most scenic countryside.
Better signage is needed from approaching roads as the satnav had a nervous breakdown finding the place via some very narrow lanes.
