Elaia Hotel

Smallish room but comfortable bed. Curtains are quite light unfortunately. Good location in the old part of town, easy to walk into the town for the museum etc. Also good to walk to the Acropolis and other sites. All the walking involves cobbled roads and hills though - be aware. Handy shop for water etc a couple of minutes away, restaurant across the street if you don't want to walk down into town.

Tucked beneath the ancient ruins of Pergamon, the Alaia Hotel sits quietly in the old Ottoman quarter of Bergama. With its charming and eclectic furnishings, it proved to be a wonderful choice. Navigating the winding cobbled streets was tricky—even Google Maps struggled—but the owner was communicative and guided us there with ease. In the morning, we enjoyed a delicious homemade Turkish breakfast, and best of all, everything we wanted to see was within walking distance.

El lugar es lindo, frente a un parque, es hermoso el lugar, con casas antiguas; cerca al teleférico para subir al sitio arqueológico de Pergamo y a la basílica roja (se puede ir caminando) y a 10 min en carro de Asclepion de Pergamo. El trato es increíble y te ayudan en todo lo que necesites.

This hotel is more of a homestay than a hotel. It is located in the very old part of town and getting there through the very narrow cobbled streets can be a challenge.
The host is very helpful and provides you with the usual breakfast.
Our room was warm (January) and the bathroom was adequate (with a strong septic smell coming from the plumbing).
Old, full of character and friendly. An authentic experience. Easy parking once you get there.
The trick if you are driving is to use satnav to find the Ulu Cami Mosque, turn left after you go over the bridge, keep going and follow the signs to the Acropolis Restaurant. That will get you to the hotel.
The restaurant opposite (The Acropolis) is exceptional. Great service, very clean with white table cloths etc. Traditional Turkish but also caters to vegetarians.
We found the Pergamon ruins somewhat underwhelming compared to other sites - but the theatre is quite spectacular.

A very charming place to stay with warm and friendly hosts. Simple at a good price for a local experience. The location is good for walking but driving is a bit of a challenge!

Definitely a local experience. I was warmly welcomed and looked after. Be very careful if you plan on driving in the area. Many very narrow roads. Get good directions that are suited to cars!

J'ai passé une nuit. Très bon séjour, calme, bon accueil, bon petit déjeuner. Un peu cher mais l'offre d'hébergement à Bergama est limitée. C'est certainement une des meilleurs adresses rapport qualité/prix.
On peut rejoindre le centre ville de Bergama à pieds en quelques minutes.
Juste une chose: quand vous repartez en voiture, ne pas suivre votre GPS car il va vous emmener dans des ruelles pas adaptées aux voitures (trop étroites).

The Elaia hotel is a charming small boutique hotel in an old house. It has an antique charm, with very accommodating service. The breakfasts were delicious traditional Turkish fare. The location is very quiet and convenient to an excellent restaurant. If you are driving, pay close attention to the driving directions!
