This was a very nice hotel within walking distance to the bund and LOTS of shopping. It’s next door to the Peace Hotel which houses the oldest jazz band in the world and they were good. I would definitely recommend this place.
I really liked this place. It was a short walk up to the Bund. The room was great and breakfast was mostly Chinese but also had good Western options. Staff spoke just a little English. My only problem was that the taxi driver dropped me at their other (larger) hotel 3 streets away as neither of us realised there were two!
Very good experience
I booked the room for my parents' with the breakfast included as extra charge. They offer an upgrade when my parents checked in since they like a river view. However, they asked them to pay another breakfast included rate and refuse to refund duplicated break fast cost.
Right on East Nanjing Rd, right up the street to the Pedestrian street, and right down (left) to the Bund.
Great spot for travelers wanting to be in the heart of shanghai, limited English with some of the staff but that was ok. Really nice spacious rooms.
Great location. However rooms a bit jaded!!
Fantastic location, a minute's walk from the Bund, about 15 mins walk from the Old City, very spacious, very clean, staff were very helpful and polite.
The location is great. However, the room smell like paint. From the website pictures, it looks like each room has a view of the bund. However, our room view is just walls..
Excellent location! Steps from the metro station and the Bund. Super quiet and clean. View of the Pearl Tower as you leave the hotel. Enough English spoken to be easily understood.

Great location. Generally nice hotel. Very few staff speak any English. Room has frig, but it doesn't cool. Odd bathroom configuration, may not be liked by some couples.
Spacious room, excellent location. Value for money. The only downside is lack of international channels on TV.
Great location on Nanjing Road just a couple blocks away from the Bund and easy access to the metro. Rooms were clean and modern.
Clean, great location, nice staff. We would stay here again in the future
This is my 6th stay at this hotel in Shanghai.
The hotel is more suitable for business trip (it is not family friendly).
Check-in is always a breeze as the receptionist handles check in professionally.
The air conditioning in the room is centrally set to a certain temperature, so it is useless to try and lower the temperature manually from the remote available in your room.
Breakfast spread is very little and almost no variety, so it is always better to save your RMB 88 and get your breakfast from the nearby cafes or McDonalds.
The hotel is really near to the famous Nanjing Road, so there are plenty of places to shop and travelling is convenient by Metro.
Things that can be improved:
- please improve the hotel's air conditioning system
- please change the pillows in the room as they are way too thin and soft (really not befitting a 4.5 star hotel)
location was excellent, handy to everything , room was wonderful and surprisingly roomy. Bed could have been a bit softer but overall the room was great.Highly recommended.
Have been 2years after the last stay in this hotel....it was very good but now is really poor...
very bad house keeping..
annoying noise form the a/c machine of the opposite building
Lovely clean and comfortable rooms, buffet brekkie not too impressive and most staff don’t speak good English which can make communication hard at times.
PROS: Location, location, location. This is the best possible location in Shanghai, half block from Bund and two blocks from Nanjing Street. Some occidental food options in shopping malls close by. The room had everything you need with very nice modern touches and very, very clean. Ours was very dark, with almost no windows.
CONS: Think of it as a serviced apartment more than a hotel. The stuff is non existent. They dont speak english and were not helpful at all. We had an issue (our flight was cancelled) and they could not even help because of both, language and good attitude limitations.
