The rooms are very good size and beds comfortable.
NO CHILDREN'S SWIMMING POOL. We travelled with small children and went the the purpose to enjoy the resort and the pool areas. We discovered there is no children's swimming pool!. The large main pool and canals are all 1.2m deep which is dangerous and too deep for small children. There are two small 2m diameter tiny jacuzzi size pools at the correct depth but nothing else.
The hotel grounds were a little unkempt and tatty. Chipped tiles, weeds, empty dirty fish tanks etc.
The lunch served in the All-Day dining restaurant was poor quality. Breakfast buffet was good however.
This is a fine stay, even a good stay... if you don't look too close. Lets say, its good for a cheap stay, quick get away.
TBH the entire hotel really needs a complete overhaul.
Staff tried and were very nice, but the hotel looks shabby and is a bit dated.
Rooms were clean and beds super comfortable. Hotel food was pretty good when we finally got some.
Beach was cute.
Breakfast was excellent!
This following paragraph looks awful, but we did have a great time, despite this list.
Like I said... we noticed and just tried to look past and pretend we didn't see and just focus on enjoying our stay. I will not post photo's here but i will send direct to the hotel.
It is almost impossible to order food/drinks by the pool, it took 2 hours (perhaps longer, and we borrowed a phone number from a staff member to get it to work). Rubbish everywhere. Broken equipment and clutter laying around. Unstaffed pool bar for the 3 days we visited the pool. Life guard chair held together with duck tape (both of them). Dead coral in the dead fish tank, green grout in the pool. Carpets in the halls that don't line up. Hotel train that you need to buy tickets for, QR codes for all in room services, don't work. Paddle boards for rent that you can't use in the ocean.
COMPLETELY TOTALLY USELESS Wifi. It does not work at all. Don't even bother trying. I gave up and used my roaming data.
Live band at the bar, staff pointed the speaker at our group of seats and turned the volume up...
God I felt like a total KAREN complaining, the band was OK and the singers were OK, we were happy to hear them perform, but it was literally TOO LOUD.
In fairness, the bar staff did turn the volume down and the speaker away from us when I asked.
But then.. they turned the speaker up again on the 2nd set!
Good lord! So we chattered a little louder, and they turned the music up again, so we spoke a little louder, and it seemed to go up in volume again, at this point we were shouting at each other. This is a hotel outdoor bar... not a nightclub, not a concert venue! The experience should be for 'the enjoyment of the guests' not and an indulgence of ego 'for the performance of the band', - It was way too loud.

We recently stayed at the Angsana Zhuhai and had an absolutely wonderful experience. From the moment we arrived, the service was nothing short of impeccable. A heartfelt thank you to the wechat concierge team – Flora, Holly, and Sini – who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was as pleasant as possible. Their attentiveness, warmth, and professionalism truly set this resort apart. They made us feel genuinely cared for throughout our entire visit.
The resort’s bar is a standout, offering a super nice panoramic view of the Zhuhai Bridge and the vast ocean. It’s the perfect spot to unwind in the evening. The restaurant also impressed us with great food and attentive service; every meal was a delight.
The pool area is fantastic and extremely children-friendly. Our kids absolutely loved it. We booked a poolside room, and the highlight was having a pool canal right outside our balcony that leads directly to the main pool. The children could not get enough of this fun feature. The room itself was beautifully decorated, with a spacious bathroom and a large bathtub – perfect for relaxing after a day of fun.
The resort’s close proximity to the Banyan Tree hotel is a huge bonus. It gives you access to even better dining options. While a bit on the pricier side, the food there is definitely worth the splurge.
**A few mino suggestions for improvement:**
- The wine selection at the restaurants could be more varied and better curated. A wider range of options would greatly enhance the dining experience.
- Our son was extremely disappointed that all the chocolate macarons were sold out for the entire weekend. Given the resort's high standards, we were surprised that such a popular item was not restocked. We hope this can be addressed for future guests.
Despite these small hiccups, our stay was memorable and thoroughly enjoyable. We highly recommend the Angsana Zhuhai for families seeking a luxurious, fun, and service-oriented getaway. We will definitely return, thanks in no small part to the incredible team led by Flora, Holly, and Sini.
Side of room and view
Facilities are built for instagram/ pictures. Not a true resort as advertised. Dark hallways not enough lightings,
Private beach is meaningless - guests are not allowed to go into water , was told by staff that they do not want to assume liability about injury due to sharp rocks and shells and I will say the least about trash floating along shore line swimming pools are built for kids mostly , there’s no hot tub
Only 1 Thai restaurant is open during the week.

We had a wonderful stay here with our child. The hotel is genuinely family-friendly, and the kids’ activities were thoughtfully designed—not just for show, but truly engaging and enjoyable.
There were different activities scheduled each day, like simple crafts, interactive games, and small group sessions that made it easy for kids to participate and have fun. You could really see the effort the staff put into creating a warm and welcoming environment for families.
And staff Stella is so friendly and kind！
What I appreciated most was how relaxed everything felt. It wasn’t overly structured or overwhelming—just the right balance that allowed both kids and parents to enjoy the experience. Our child had such a great time that leaving the hotel was actually the hardest part.
Overall, a lovely stay, and we would definitely come back again.
