Aurico Kata Resort & Spa

Wifi was patchy in the room.

We had a short stay here of 4 nights after island hoping. On arrival this hotel tucked away off a very busy, hustle bustle road. So very convenient for shops, food, massage ...infact everything!
The hotel is lovely, we was greeted and made to feel instantly welcome from the friendly staff.
We had a pool access room and it was lovely.
Very quiet , calm and relaxing. Beds very comfy,there was a fridge with water. The breakfast was great, plenty of options for all nationalities. They cook fresh omelette and eggs for you. My husband managed to rustle up a rough version of a english breakfast, while i was happy to have have toast , cereal and croissant.
We found the whole experience in this hotel lovely. They have a beautiful resident cat in the reception too, and the staff love their cat , which was heart warming to see. This hotel couldnt be anymore central, but once you walk off the busy street into the hotel area , its very calm and quiet. And a big plus its flat , no big hills to climb. Which im glad i did my research as some hotels in this area , are up extremely STEEP HILLS...this one isnt .... Highly recommended

A great looking hotel with nice pools. The staff were lovely, our room had a comfortable bed and was really clean.
Kata Walking Street Market and Kata Night Market are a few minutes away along with lots of other shops so you have access to everything you need.
Kata Beach and Karon Beach are both 10 minutes walk away so you can take your pick.

I have a mixed review for this hotel..

The hotel it's self is very nice, it has a huge pool and pool access rooms( which we had and it was very nice) it was very quiet and chilled.
Our room was very spacious too. The bed was huge and very comfortable.

All the hotel staff was more than helpful and very welcoming.
A really happy friendly front of house team we found.
Nothing was to much trouble.

The hotel is situated off a very busy street, and once you are in the hotel you would believe how hustle and bustle it was outside.

Its very central to everything and about a 15min walk to the beach , on the way you pass many shops , bars , restaurants, markets , food sellers, massage parlours. Its eye opening as there is so much to take in..we found it was nicer to stroll down in the morning , less busy and calmer.

If you want to be in the thick of it all then this hotel ticks all the boxes.

What I wasn't so keen on was the smells , our room seemed to hold a drainage smell , and the pool towels , even when replaced and clean never smelt clean they also had a horrible smell to them?

Walking down the street , you was met with fish stalls , food stalls , fruit stalls ect so mix this with hot humid heat ! I wasn't a fan . During our trip we stayed in several different hotels , in different areas of phuket rawai, au nang krabi ,kata , karon , and this is the only hotel and area i found to smell.
Our daughter stayed 10 mins away in the sugar fashion apartments and it was fine there , so I think its just the location of this hotel is in a very busy spot.

Thats all I wasn't so keen about and it didnt bother my husband at all.

The hotel had a decent breakfast too.
Yes it did cater more for the Thai and Chinese guests, but it also had omelette being freshly made, fried or scrambled eggs, streaky bacon, sometimes baked beans, cereals, toast, croissants, waffles, we really found it catered well. And we was in Thailand, we do not expect full on English breakfasts!

So would i stay here again? Probably, but would maybe prefer to be further down the round nearer to the beach where the air was fresher..

Great hotel. Breakfast was good and better than most places we have been to in phuket. The pool area is quiet during the day, but busier at night.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
Overall, great value for the price.

Its a neat and clean property and well laid out. Staff are very good .. from reception to HK n at restaurants.
Only downside I found was use of Massage facility - they did not offer d private room to begin with and were in a hurry to start. When I insisted on a seperate room, they realised the AC was not working there. They also did not offer the use of d Sauna before or after the massage. A third party therapist, most probably, came and expected me to try switching on the AC. Only my daughter ended up using the facility and even she was not happy with the experience.
The other small flaw, was the restaurant staff did not allow a take away breakfast. When I spoke to d reception, they said we have to inform 1 day before.. strange.. as most hotels around d world, let u load ur bfast in boxes n also give u a take away coffee cup. Else the quality of food in restaurant n also room service was good. The Pool n d decor around reception area were the highlights. Good value for money.. if u dont mind some fellow tourist shouting around d pool in some strange language :)

I liked the room facilities, very clean and spacious room. The price was amazing value for the high standard of the hotel. The only thing that frustrated me was the reception staff did not speak english and had to keep referring my query to one person on staff.
Loved the pool and outdoor area and the breakfast, which was included in our package, was varied and yummy every day. The staff were very friendly and accommodating.
The hotel was central to the beaches and not far from other towns. I would stay here again.

If I could give -1 to this hotel..where do I start. Breakfast options very POOR, they serve only Thai fopd considering it's a touristy destination they should improve the breakfast for international guests and not only thai food. For 6 days straight I had the same breakfast. Found stains on my first day and immediatly told reception to change, which they did but how can they give a room without checking if it's clean??
Plus the cleaning ladies didn't clean the room properly they only fold the sheets that's all. The shower had with a weird smell...
Very noisy, I was unable to sleep for 3 consecutive days, reported to reception and the staff didn't even bother to sort it out and finding out where is the noise coming from. Staff didn't even speal english when I was teying to explaim the noise. I WOULD NOT reccomend this scam hotel.

Wir hatten eine schöne Zeit im Aurico, die Lage etwas außerhalb vom Trubel war sehr gut, da es nicht so laut war. In 5 Minuten war man jedoch auf den belebten Straßen. Das Frühstück ließ keine Wünsche offen, es gab sehr viel Auswahl! Das Zimmer mit Poolzugang war ein Traum. Ja, vielleicht hat hier und da etwas Ablage im Bad gefehlt, aber die zwei Schritte um ins Schlafzimmer zu gehen, wo viel Platz war, ist zuzumuten. Wir sind gern nach unseren Ausflügen wieder gekommen und würden es auch zukünftig tun. Danke an das stets bemühte Team.

Erstes Zimmer musste gewechselt werden aufgrund von Ameisen Lärm durch Verbindungstür. Zimmerwechsel kein Problem. Kleiderschrank etwas klein, dafür aber sehr großes Zimmer.
Reinigung des Bades lässt zu wünschen übrig. Armaturen sowie Dusche voll mit Kalk Seifenreste. Scheibe zwischen Bad und Zimmer noch dreckig von anderen Gästen (Handabdrücke). Schlauch der Dusche war undicht. Klimaanlage war auf niedrigster Stufe so laut, dass man nachts nicht schlafen konnte. Balkontüren sehr dünn, dadurch sehr hellhörig. Zimmertür ebenso sehr hellhörig. Frühstück wird schon um halb 11 abgeräumt obwohl es bis 11 geht.
WLAN war zwar da, aber im Zimmer Verbindungsabbrüche, jedoch auf der Hotelanlage einwandfrei.
Schmutzwäsche-Wagen wurde immer Nachts gegen 12 Uhr vom Personal lautstark über den Gang gefahren. Handtücher waren teilweise defekt. Sehr freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal. Schöner Pool sowie Poolbar. Fitnessraum vorhanden, aber nicht mehr. Gäste überwiegend Ostblock(Russland etc.) Rollervermietung direkt auf dem Parkplatz vom Hotel sehr freundlich und zu empfehlen.

We liked the location as it was close to lots of amenities. The pool was beautiful and well kept. The rooms were decent. The breakfast options were excellent.

Friendly staff

Das Hotel liegt sehr zentral zwischen Kata und Karon. Die Anlage bietet Ruhe von der sonst sehr hektischen Umgebung. Das Frühstücksbüffet war umfangreich und die angebotenen Speisen frisch und lecker. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und Hilfsbereit. Die Pooltemperatur war exrem erfrischend, wenn man kaltes Wasser mag :-)

We booked this hotel to spend time relaxing after a hectic 2 weeks travelling in Vietnam and Cambodia. The hotel did not fail to impress us and ensured we had an amazing 5 days here. The staff throughout the hotel were welcoming, friendly and always keen to help. We chose a swim-up room which allowed us to swim from our room straight to the pool bar! Our room had everything we needed including complimentary bottled water every day. The breakfast was excellent each day, loads of variety and seemed to cater well of all tastes and expectations. The pool area was well maintained and there was never an issue with getting a sun bed at any time of the day. The hotel is 10 minutes walk from Kata Beach and there are loads of bars and restaurants all close to the hotel. This holiday was exactly as we had hoped and would highly recommend the hotel.

Modern and well-equipped room with nice view over the inner courtyard of the hotel. Excellent breakfast, nice pool, OK gym, good food & cocktails, and pretty good location.

Wir geniessen jedes Mal ein Zimmer mit Poolzugang.
Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Second visit and can say it's gone downhill. Breakfast ok but meat and cheeses now limited which is a shame. Omelettes are great though and there is always something you can eat.

We also noticed attention to detail isn't great. Paint those walls that are tired looking.

Biggest annoyance is coming from a day at the beach to a note telling you pool/beach towels missing and you're gonna be fined. at least wait till checkout to accuse you of stealing. Absolutely fuming about it. Don't provide if you're going to complain to guests who still have a week to go.

Second visit will be our last which is a shame as when we came 2 years ago the place was amazing.

It’s a pity I can’t remember certain staff names but over Xmas newyrs very welcoming ,polite and genuine.not our first Thai trip good spot central one road back from Kata rd same again to beach 10 mins by scooter to patong would stay here again pool entry room is nice .

We just came back from our holiday having spent 12 nights in this hotel. Hotel is located 500 metres away from Kata beach which is very much walkable however the hotel provides free shuttle bus twice a day. Location is very much in the centre of busy and crowded Kata town but as soon as you turn into the hotel grounds it feels tranquil and peaceful. Room was very spacious, breakfast excellent; there is something for everyone. There is a gym, kids playroom and spa in the hotel. Swimming pool area is very nice, clean with plenty of sun lounges available and with very few guests being around. Pool bar serves food and drinks with happy hour 17.00 - 19.00. The only negative for me ( but it is a personal preference) the water in the pool is really cold.
For me the best part of this hotel is its staff: without them and their hard work none of the above would be possible. Yes, some may say that their English is not good enough but they are doing their best to please everyone. And everything is done with Thai warmth and smile. Remember, Thailand is their country so showing them respect and appreciation for what they do is all what they all need. There are so many positives about this hotel that little mistakes should be forgotten.
