Cons:

I did not stay at Pousada Oásis do Barral. They relocated me to the guesthouse next door, claiming that Booking.com had experienced a problem that resulted in an overbooking. This was not true; the problem was caused by the guesthouse itself.

When I made my reservation, I was asked to pay a 50% deposit to guarantee the booking. I did not see the email requesting payment because I was traveling, so I did not make the payment at that time. The guesthouse sent me several emails asking me to confirm the reservation, but I did not see them. Finally, they contacted me via WhatsApp 4 days after which I received on my phone, and I then completed the payment to secure my reservation. Throughout this entire period, even after I had made my reservation, they kept the room available for other bookings. They did not cancel anyone’s reservation, and all the bookings were confirmed. In the end, they had four reservations for the same room and had to relocate the guests.

I was lucky because I ended up staying at a very good guesthouse, but I could easily have been left stranded on the street with my luggage. This was completely unacceptable and could have put me in a very difficult and vulnerable situation as a woman traveling alone.

Great Oasis on Ilha Gigoia
Pros:

Wonderful location on Ilha Gigoia. Very cool to be on this special little island hidden in the middle of Rio. We originally meant to stay four days but extended to a week. Sergio and the other staff were very kind and helpful. Comfortable bed, good bathroom, perfect little kitchen set up. Next door to market with all basic food items, plus lots of restaurants and bars. We loved our stay and hope to come back soon!

Cons:

Wish the wifi was a little stronger. Otherwise no complaints!

Boa localização na ilha da Gigóia. É um local bem bonito, perto do metro e BRT.

Cons:

O quarto era muito velho e lotado de pernilongos, a roupa de cama também era muito velha e tinha cheiro de guardado, a cama era dura e extremamente desconfortável, o colchão quase não tinha espuma. Uma experiência muito ruim pelo preço caro que pagamos.

Pousada Oasis em Gigoia - paraíso da ilha
Pros:

É a segunda vez que eu vou, e o ambiente é ótimo. O anfitrião entrega as chaves, e deixa os visitantes 100% a vontade, ou seja, ele não incomoda em nada. Dei nota 10, na primeira vez, e dou nota 10 de novo. A localização é excelente, porque fica a menos de 50 metros da entrada da ilha. Limpeza nota 10, a funcionária é de uma educação e simpatia, que nao posso deixar de exaltar, e o dono é simplesmente nota 10 também. Podem ir sem medo de ser feliz. Ja virei freguesa. Com certeza voltarei outras vezes. Simplesmente maravilhoso.

Cons:

Nao ha o que nao tenha gostado.
