Smelly and Dirty

No hot water, starts warm then goes freezing cold 30 seconds in
Drain in shower blocks and water overflows
Smell from drain is straight sewage
Smell overwhelms the room and you can’t breathe
Couldn’t sleep because of no fresh air, as windows cannot open

Loud restaurant upstairs that you hear constantly

Pros:

The beds were good and the staff we really good

Cons:

The showers hot water wasn't working for the twice I used it and I just had to have a cold shower both times, did alert them for the first shower but they said they'd have a look at it

Pros:

Staff (reception and housekeeping) were responsive and very hospitable. Location was ideal as it was near the beach, the Arts Centre, and walkable to the mall and restaurants.

Cons:

There was no laundry services in the hotel.

Although the rooms were clean and newly renovated the building and surrounds were creepy & neglected
Pros:

The room was spotless and spacious. The furnishings and finishings were exactly what I expected.

Cons:

The outlook was onto a dirty carpark that serviced a bar and restaurant. So when I was going to bed there were rowdy bar patrons immediately outside my window, like half a meter away.
Also, security to the hotel section of the building was not good. Even though the doors from the hotel to the foot paths and carparks were locked, anyone could enter through the bar and restaurant and go into the hotel section without anyone stopping them. There were hardly ever staff on the hotel reception and they didn't answer the bell or the phone if you called them. There also wasn't any hot water in the shower at night.

The size of the room. Room service was great

Cons:

Having staff come through our room every day because someone else was smoking in the facility was extremely rude.
Then, no after hours service. The gentleman next door locked himself out of his room amd he was stuck in the hallway for hours, with no pants on. Not good enough.

Pros:

Upon checking in, my wife decided to take a shower, however, the shower head fell off. A quick call to reception and we were admirably assisted by both Bree and Jelly (sp), who quickly found us a new room. Bree went above and beyond to make sure the new room was made up. An unfortunate start to the stay made 100 times better by these 2 lovely ladies.

Terrific spot but...
Pros:

Great place. Great location. Plenty parking. Great beds. Great restaurant. Close to beach and shops.

Cons:

The room was located on ground floor under the restaurant...and clearly there is no sound proofing between floors. All we heard was constant chairs moving/sliding on the floor and other loud noises presumably from the kitchen area... was very loud and clear.
The restaurant is great but underneath it...not so great. Noise eventually settled down presumably when the restaurant closed for the night.
