Orchard Hotel

a flat 2 streets down from pub with a grumpy neighbour who doesn’t like anything! was asked to leave with no one where else to go.

Could do with a lick of paint here and there.

Rooms were very tired & dirty - really needed fresh coat of paint & bathrooms repaired such as tiling.

I was trapped in the house!!!

The room is located in a shared house, which is probably okay, however appears to be pricey for this type... Why facilities located in annex and not the main building?! There was no WiFi, staff tried to help, however without any result. No WiFi nowadays?... It was not the worst part, when I was trying to leave around 0700am, the 'common' door was locked and it could not be open from the inside!! There was another guest, who tried to help me, however we both could not open the door! Thinking how unsafe it was I had a panick attack. I found a number of Zoe (whoever she is, probably landlady?) and called her and explained the situation, as the pub obviously was closed as it was too early. About 20mins after we were 'rescued' by one of the hotel stuff, and I run in tears, and had a very big stress. DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS DOOR!!! IT'S UNSAFE TO BE TRAPPED WITH NO OPPORTUNITY TO LEAVE! I guess the lock was broken from our side, as I found park of the lock, however it was still impossible to unlock it. Absolutely unacceptable, what if it was a fire?! Would I need to jump from the window? My whole day was ruined by this situation, I was crying a lot and now have a fear of staying in similar places, as I could be locked!!!

Per arrivare alla nostra camera abbiamo dovuto fare due rampe di scale strette e ripide.. la camera appena sufficiente, la pulizia generale scarseggia, le lenzuola erano anche macchiate e c’era solo un asciugamano a disposizione per fare tutto!

Room was a little small,bordering street some noise at time,but was a pleasant stay

Staying in a building two streets away from the hotel and being downgraded to a shared bathroom on a different floor, not even a glass or cup around to get a glass of water, a drink of any sort out of the question
Television not working

Narrow staircase makes it awkward carrying up suitcases but that can’t be helped as old building

Die Einrichtung ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen, das Bett war instabil , nur ein Stuhl für zwei Personen.
WLAN gab es nicht , obwohl in der Beschreibung angegeben.
Sehr enger Parkplatz am Nebengebäude.

Parking wasn't as straightforward as it was made out to be. The car park attached to the main hotel only had enough spaces for 7/8 cars which wasn't particularly good when there were 2 cars parking over 2 other spaces limiting it even more. I rang the hotel to ask about parking and was told that after 5pm the parking wardens stopped working so could park on the road but have to move it by 8am. Not ideal when you've got a car you want to look after.
I went into the hotel say about the shit parking and was told that there was an overflow car park on the opposite side of the road and could park there. Not very well signposted either especially with it being on a one way street and having to go round the one way system to be able to get back to find the overflow car park. Overflow parking had a few more spaces but again due to shit parking by 2 other cars they took up 4 spaces leaving very limited space for anyone else to park! Having finally parked we got our things out the car and walked over to the hotel to check in. When we were told that we were in the next car create road Doh! So had to gather up our things and trundle back over to where we parked the car to finally arrive at our room. We still had a nice stay after a rocky start.
