A great hotel for a family relax !!! Big thanks to everyone! Beautiful hotel with great staff and services 😉
nothing
Nice hotel with good service from the staff who speaks English. They made our stay very pleasant. We had a good time at the pool, and we liked the room with a nice balcony with lake view.
I am writing this review with a very mixed feeling.
The reason I give a three out of five due to their very extreme performance. You have some very warm staff on one hand, and very unprofessional ones on the other hand. The hardware of the hotel looks nice. And yet with a lot of problems, to give some example of my stay:
- Some of the staff are willing to take the time and listen to our need
- Some of the staff were quick in responding to our need
- The business lunch was always serve according to our request
- Rooms were clean
On the other hand:
- They actually conducted construction less than a minute walking distance from our meeting room, without even informing us about it. And the wood chips and dust were flying all over the place, including our snack.
After our initial complaint, they try to talk their way out of it, hoping we will get by. Only after a number of complaints from our team, including some lifetime Platinum, then the manager agree to do something.
- Understand China is very much into high tech, their restaurant even uses WeChat barcodes to access their menu. Unfortunately, as a foreigner I don’t have WeChat. Can you imagine a restaurant with high star ranking from China, and serve food with an average price of $40-$70 per dish, they expect the customer to go online and order food like in McDonalds, coming now
- For the three days I stayed in the hotel, my room light turn off completely ever 75 minutes, and the room was not designed with timer or sensor, and they can not fix it, although they mentioned I can change a room the next day, and it was only talk, and no action, can anyone imagine in the evening suddenly your room lights shuts off by itself time after time

Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were nicely decorated and clean.
Staff were overworked during such a busy period. Buffet breakfast is overpriced with not a lot of variety. Dinner options are very limited, which isn’t usually a problem but the hotel’s isolated location makes it difficult to find somewhere nice nearby. At check in time (after 3pm) we were told we’d have to wait at least 2-3 hours before our booked room would be ready.
The rooms were clean and we were able to get adjoining rooms as requested (although it was a bit of a fight at check-in to get this, despite emailing them in advance twice). The bathrooms in the rooms were nice and large and the beds were very comfortable. The breakfast buffet in the mornings were also good with a nice variety of items to select to select from (both Western and Asian). Staff were generally friendly.
Facilities were nice, although the pool was out of order as it was being cleaned. The most disappointing aspect of our stay was the food available. Room service was essentially nonexistent. Items listed was not available or it was not possible to communicate with the person who answered the phone. Very few staff could speak English and then very limited. The Japanese restaurant was also out of many items but the staff would not say anything until well after your order was placed and then poor substitutions were considered. As prices were expensive; it became a disappointing experience. Not sure we would return.
One of the worse experience ever in my 17 years living in China! Heating systems doesn’t work at all, very cold in the whole Hotel, overall service poor, cleanses on low level, etc. Very disappointing experience in a 5-Star Hotel ever!!!!!!
This is a great hotel, with really good service and all the amenities you would expect from a 5 star hotel. The food in the Japanese restaurant on the top floor was delicious, the swimming pool quite big and clean and the free bike hire was really easy. We also played table tennis and bolwing - the only downside of this was that the bolwing was ridiculously expensive and we couldn't set up the scoring system. The staff were very helpful at all times. The area is beautiful, very close to the lake. Only one downside was that it was really quiet and some of the attractions were closed.
Excellent service and one of best hotels in Suzhou, good for family vacation. Awesome warm welcome service from duty manager Zoe and very helpful check in staff Nacy! Higher recommend this hotel and will be back again in the future!
My husband and I stayed here during the mid-autumn festival weekend. The hotel has two restaurants that serve great Suzhounese and Japanese food. We loved the Suzhou style noodle soup at Wan Li restaurant. We also went to Man Ho in Marriott Hotel, which served tasty Cantonese BBQ (among others) and is just located next door. The cocktail game at R Bar has room for improvement!
We would like to thank the staff for the great service, in particular, Will Zhang and Jenny Xiong, for making sure that we had a good experience during the whole stay. Point for improvement for the management: Please install a water station to refill drinking bottles. :) Many thanks for everything.

Originally I was staying here for 2 nights of vacation, but ended up working. Didn't get to enjoy the facility as much as I would like to have, but still a great stay!
The pool and gym are great! Both and indoor and outdoor pool are available for use. And if you have kids, there is a small children pools area. Bicycles are also available for use.
Rooms are great and have a balcony! Huge showers and tubs in the bathrooms. Enjoying the balcony at night with a glass of wine was a treat. The windows were also great at keeping out what very little noise there is in the area.
The executive lounge and staff were pleasant and always had my wine glass topped off. Unfortunately no breakfast in the lounge in the morning, but not a big deal. The lobby breakfast was still great!
R Bar hostess was helpful for small snacks and drinks. The 11th floor bar looked awesome, but didn't have a chance to enjoy.
A thanks to Kim Sun for helping me book!
I wanted to thanks first of all for the great experience in your hotel Mr Shawn Gu, a professional and expert manager in the service industry that Marriot group should be proud to have in their hotels! He perfectly knew my family and my needs and never shy to help me satisfy some requests. The trip in his hotel with my family has been top notch thanks to him and i will never forget this! Thanks again and keep it up...loved the movie theatre and swimming pool in hotel, really impressive over all!
The people and service is amazing. The Executive Lounge is worth it. Get almost a full dinner, and of course breakfast. Would definitely stay here again in Suzhou, especially if have access to the Executive Lounge.
