Old hotel needs a lot of work water coming through the room in places

The staff were lovely. Our bed was comfortable.
Two mornings the hot buffet food was dried up. The bread was cheap. The fruit was not fresh.
Our toilet had faeces in it from the previous occupant and our bedding was stained.
Room very warm, no aircon. Sash windows dont open.

We stayed in this hotel 15 years ago. It was a little tired but overall great value. I booked it again this week not realising it is now part of the Britannia group # a hotel chain I vowed to never let curse my life again. We stayed one night and to be fair for the price it was excellent lovely staff it’s had a huge investment on fittings and decor. Never thought I’d say this but well done Britannia.now about the rest of the chain you can do it.. ps please start at the royal bath in Bournemouth

It was noisy with banging doors all throughout our stay.
Room was miles away from the lift down a corridor narrowed by a fire escape, making it harder to navigate with luggage and a dog.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel location was excellent.
The room and bed were clean. However, we felt that the standard of the room was very tired, particularly the bathroom. Although we were provided with a fan, it was unfortunate that we couldn't open the sash windows due to broken cords. Overall, we felt the hotel lacked atmosphere
