We have stayed there multiple times before, we have gotten a larger room with a small sitting area. They would not give us the larger room , we were there for 3 nights in a small, tight room. We will not be back.
Small room
Air conditioning cold hard to regulate
I like everything about this property, and I will definitely book there again when visiting Petaluma.
I was excited to recommend this hotel to my nephew and his girlfriend during their road trip through Petaluma, and I'm so glad I did. They absolutely loved their stay! They told me that the hotel was charming, their room was comfortable, and the breakfast was excellent. It was a great place for them to relax after a day of traveling.
Property was nice, beautiful design and decoration, high ceiling and quite. Complimentary breakfast was great and staff were friendly.
Mattress and pillows were too soft
An old silk mill turned hotel is an amazing case study for adapted reuse of older buildings. Much of the charm has been retained with the most evident being the exposed red brick walls. I checked in online and was pleased to find a hard key in my room waiting for me, a first after many many Hilton stays. The room was clean and well appointed and featured custom sheer roll down curtains with a historic map of Petaluma printed on them. The gym was a standard Hampton gym but it does extend into one of the towers where you will find a peloton. Breakfast was standard but the space was clean and well kept. I also enjoyed the book nook in the first floor elevator lobby. My only critique is of the light fixtures in the second floor hallway. They are not the vibe of the property and barn lamps or RLMs would have been a better choice.
We requested a quiet room as we had travelled from New Zealand. We got exactly what we had asked for, and I was very, very happy. We slept extremely well, in a large, comfortable bed. All of the staff were fantastic. We had dealings with housekeeping, the maintenance man, the lady who runs the kitchen, and of course the front-line reception. All were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The hotel has retained the charm of its 120-year-old history. It's lovely. A short walk to the town of Petaluma and the historic housing area was a bonus for us. The area is definitely worth a visit. Great shopping, restaurants, and people. We will return when next flying into SFO.. Why stay in the city? This location is safe, clean and charming! We also drove out to Dillon's Beach. Lovely countryside!
That we only stayed 2 nights, another 2 nights would have been great.
Location is good - easy to reach by car and good parking. Downtown Petaluma is walking distance and has a good selection of restaurants. I recommend the Shuckery! Also, a great cocktail bar is just a few minutes away - Mario and John's.
I was surprised to find the breakfast buffet is served with disposable plates, cutlery and cups which is all thrown away into one bin, including food scraps. Not a great eating experience - even a comparable hotel like the Premier Inn in the UK provides guests with real dishware. Can't understand this decision and didn't love it. Also - to assure European guests, the hotel is a 10-15 min walk or short Uber ride from some nice restaurants and bars. I was surprised to find this after the front desk recommended I get Door Dash if wanted some dinner.
The renovated and repurposed industrial building,
cleanliness, location with ample parking.
Nothing!
It was very clean and conveniently located;
I was just a short walk from the speedway and downtown.

Kristine is awesome! So friendly knowledgeable and eager to get my day off to a great start!
Love the room. It’s an old silk mill from the 1800s so it’s got all the character in the world.
Really enjoyed this stay in Petaluma. Very unique Hampton Inn that was at one time a silk factory. Our room was large and on the second story which was really a dual room suite with very high ceiling in the back room with original brick exposure.
Very cool and unique!! knowledgeable staff and nice included breakfast. Well located near downtown Petaluma.
Sehr sauber
