Great stopover.
Pros:

Last minute decision to break up our journey and travel at night in the heatwave.
Air con in this heatwave! Quiet. Drove through the middle of a public park.

Cons:

Didn’t get a chance to enjoy the place as arrived late at night, slept and left early before breakfast was served!

Wouldnt stay here again
Pros:

I liked the room size and the bathroom

Cons:

I didnt like that when i ordered something and it wasnt up to standard and the gnnochi was precooked that i still had to pay for it. They could have offered another dish of the same price. I didnt eat it but i still had to pay 18 pounds for it. This is bad customer service. The staff were fude and arrognant.

The history of the house and the lovely staff.The ambience and the location was excellent for our needs

Cons:

Waiting 40 minutes for eggs benedict at breakfast..Also the continental breakfast was a meager offering that wasn't replenished or enticing.The price of the rooms should be reflected in the quality of the breabfast

Breakfast was excellent. Good range of food available. Excellent presentation & service.

Cons:

Struggled (due to a health issue) to climb the x2 flights of stairs to our room which was not accessible by the lift. We were not informed of this when booking.

Perfect getaway - we’ll definitely be back!

We stayed at Winstanley House from 05/04/2026 to 06/04/2026 for a quick break. My wife had just been maid of honour at her sister’s wedding, and I wanted to surprise her with a well-deserved break to help her relax. It was the perfect choice!

From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted by Caitlin, who was absolutely lovely. She provided the most wonderful service from start to finish and made us feel so welcome - thank you so much, Caitlin, you were fantastic!

Our suite was spacious, beautifully decorated, and had a stunning view from the window. The building and grounds are simply beautiful, full of character and charm. There’s also plenty of parking available on-site, which made everything so convenient.

We had an amazing time and I’m already looking forward to returning. Highly recommend!
