Tamarind Tree Hotel

We had a wonderful experience at Tamarind Hotel today! The service was truly exceptional from the moment we arrived. The staff were warm, attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect.
The atmosphere was relaxing and elegant, making it a great place to unwind and enjoy the experience. Every detail was handled with care, and it really showed in the overall quality. Kudos to Irene front office manager, joy our waitress and Morris. We will be back soon. 🌹

A nice hotel - but what made this trip 5 star was hiring Gerard the hotel driver for 5 hours to tour us round. He was so knowledgable and really allowed us to learn from him and ask a lot of questions. He was truly fantastic, our stay wouldn’t have been the same without

I had a great stay at the Tamarin Tree. The highlight was a deep tissue massage by Eve. I highly recommend!

Hada great 3 nitestay prior to flying home. Rooms were spacious good a/c and hot water. Hotel had a lovely pool, pool side seating, and great restaurant for breakfast buffet, lounge bar with live music. Wait staff was so good! They had a huge fathers day bbq buffet with bounce house , face painting and all you could eat with skewers of beef, chicken, lamb,sausages. Wait staff all with coboy boats shirts hats and sheriff stars. Some wiaters like Levy, Mary Joanne. The hotel driver took us to galleria mall had cheap african souvenirs. Hotel Driver GERARD WAS THE BEST! He is very passionate about his country and took us on a tour of the new soccer stadium, Kibera the slum, giraffee center, kazri bead factory. Gerard is very knowledgeable and he can even do the natl park. GERARD, discussed all the political struggles and took us to airport. Nicest driver ever! He works so hard. Did dinner at Carnivore on property could walk there. Did a trip thru nairobi national park. LOVED THIS HOTEL WAS PERFECT pre and post safari. Accomodated us with add extra day and a late check out 6 pm day rate since flight was midnite. Would stay here again. Treated us like family!

Very good location. Atmosphere is very appealing. Rooms very spacious and the staff are very friendly and courteous. Special thanks to Lucy and Chef Justus for making our dinner time very pleasant and memorable and making such delicious food. I have to say that all staff are excellent and I am sorry that I don't remember everybody's name to mention here. Thank you for the wonderful service.

Stayed for 3 days. Plan to stay 2 more days after 1 week safari.

THE GOOD - The hotel is very clean and the rooms are spacious. The showers have amazing pressure and the water gets nice and hot. The hotel is located in a nicer part of the city and is close to famous restaurants like Carnivore.

THE BAD - Do NOT purchase the half board option. It's not worth it! The breakfast and dinner are provided to you without anything to drink. Yes. Not even water. No tea. No coffees, and definitely no juices will be permitted with your meal, unless you pay them more money. I've never stayed at a hotel with either full or half board options that prevented guests from drinking water with their meals. So this was quite shocking. They do provide tap water in your bedroom though.

The dinner was the same buffet every evening. Tasteless and bland meat stew with some sort of rice.
The breakfast is stale breads with standard "international" items like an eggs station. But it's all quite tasteless. You are better off saving your money and eating somewhere other than the hotel.

The toilets are very low to the ground. That can be unsettling if you are taller than 5ft

As for amenities, everything has to be requested. Fridges, irons, hangers, etc. Rather than having everything waiting and ready in your room, the hotel prefers guests to arrive and ask repeatedly for the things that should have already been in the room.

In total, not a 5 star experience. More like 2.5.

The food was so good! We had a great time and great recommendations from Evelyn! Great start to our safari vacation. The hotel rooms are very clean and spacious. Feels very safe.

The Tamarind Tree Hotel is a very nice and clean establishment with a friendly staff. The decor is modern and stylish with a sleek design. The other patrons we observed throughout the property appeared to be travelers like us, or business professionals . There was a small, business conference in session during our stay but it was hardly noticeable in the common areas. We didn’t have dinner but the breakfast buffet was INCREDIBLE! If there is anything you may desire for breakfast, no matter how non traditional, they will have it fresh and readily available. The only thing I would change if possible would be the bathroom layout. Entering and exiting the shower puts you in plain view of the other inhabitants of the room. This was not ideal for our family of three but we worked it out.

We had a really amazing time, served by Evelyn. The birthday choir was amazing but the saxophone player deserves a raise, quite a beautiful performance.

It was very fun i really realy enjoyed my 13 birthday i hope to tell all my friends about it and the have such a wonderful waitress called Everlyn the food was on point i have never eaten soooo much the hotel activities was just wow

Levy, Sheryl, Rashid, as well as the additional Tamarind Tree staff provided exceptional service! Everyone was warm and attentive. Our Tamarind Tree stay was an exceptional spot to mark the beginning of our African safari girls trip. The food, service, and amenities were all top notch.
