Our apartment was great and comfortable. Great location and really friendly staff.
Partner went down to the bar at 10 and they said they were closed. Felt early for a Friday night.
Lovely quirky decor, great staff and fab restaurant on site.
Need enough towels for the number of people in the room, a tad more focus on cobwebs please.
Breakfast was excellent, great staff
We booked a double which it was , the bed was very small
Everything about this hotel is excellent
Nothing
The room was very tidy and comfortable. The food was good for both breakfast and dinner, nothing exceptional but reasonably priced food with good portion sizes and a good selection of drinks. Staff were really lovely and friendly.
The TV was a bit temperamental, kept rebooting, and it didn't have any apps so I could sign in to Netflix etc. Only other draw back was parking not being included in the price but this was a pretty minor inconvenience as the car back behind wasn't very expensive.
The staff went above and beyond. They cannot do enough for you and are amazing. When we checked in, they waited outside in the rain to make sure we got in ok! Checkout and breakfast was another member of staff who was so incredibly kind and always there is help. I cannot stress enough how wonderful the staff are.
The rooms were warm and comfortable! The toilets were clean and newly renovated. So swish! The beds and pillows are soft. Towels all freshly laundered.
The breakfast was AMAZING! So delicious. Made with beautiful ingredients. The eggs and mushrooms in particular were favourites. The plates were nice and hot with the hot breakfasts and cool with the cold breakfasts. Nice, large pot of tea. Great coffee and assorted fruit juices.
Light comes in from hallways under the doors. We had to move suitcases there overnight and try to block light.
One of the rooms had a large window immediately opposite the toilet. Pattern over the glass, but it felt very exposed. No one wanted to do anything but brush teeth or hair in that toilet, and they did everything more serious in another room we had booked.
Parking is an issue. The car park directly behind the hotel is privately owned and known to be dubious. We parked at a nearby location instead.
Fine, clean, quiet. Helpful friendly staff. Small single room.
Working at Duxford airshow, hotel was the booked but in reality too far (25 mins). Long way from where I worked. Parking difficult (a public pay 24/7 car park), and payment was either up to 3hrs or 48 hours ending midnight the following day. As I leave at 7am to go to airfield there is no way to pay for just 7 hrs, so had to pay another 48 hr ticket.
not the hotels fault i didn't have time for a cooked breakfast so had porridge instead. unfortunately this was prepared poorly.
The bed was pushed against a wall.
porridge wasn't very nice.
The food is excellent.
The staff member Jasmine Jem was very nice and helpful
It was not obvious how to get into the hotel after the front door was closed. I was beginning to panic but fortunately another guest arrived and found the way in.
I had a bit of a struggle closing the curtains
A small but very comfy room ideal for my neefd
A slightly large room
Food was Thai, even though we ordered non-spicy dishes it was slightly spicy but very delicious. Served up lovely. Room.was as described. Comfy bed. Easy check in and out. Staff on hand to help if needed. Half board option gave you £25 each off your food bill, we had to ask about this as wasn't sure or told prior. Breakfast was continental although no baked beans even when asked. Wetherspoons across the road for when the bar shuts in evening. Would definitely come back.
Parking is a nightmare. No dedicated parking area and only pay and display nearby.
The room was fantastic.
The food in the bar below was disgusting, both in appearance, taste, substance.
Very cheap mince meat and onion pie , you get better ones at an away day football match.
My partner and I stayed at the Suffolk Hotel after realising it worked out cheaper than the Travelodge once breakfast was included, and overall we had a good stay.
The bed was genuinely the highlight of the room - incredibly comfortable, with a wonderful mattress and very decent duvet and pillows.
The included breakfast was excellent, with plenty of options. The coffee was delicious.
The room itself had a few minor issues, though nothing major. The coffee pods provided were all decaf (there were sachets of normal coffee, although it’s not quite the same), which made the coffee machine fairly pointless for us. The shower was slightly confusing and temperamental, becoming exceedingly hot at times. The body wash and conditioner provided were also quite poor, and the hand soap had a grimy scum on it. Overall though, the cleanliness was good.
We paid for a late checkout, yet housekeeping staff entered the room unannounced in the morning. This happened at a very inopportune moment and caused a great deal of embarrassment, particularly for my partner. At the very least, we feel staff should have knocked, particularly as there was not a provided ‘do not disturb’ sign.
We stayed over the Christmas period so from 18:00 on Christmas Eve there were no staff or room service until the 27th December.
We knew this in advance, so we can’t comment on all their services.
Staff were very friendly and helpful on check in and check out. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean.
It was in an ideal location for us to visit our family over Christmas.
PS the local taxi service , ‘Dash’, were excellent.
There were some minor maintenance issues but as there were no staff on duty we couldn’t report them until check out. The staff said these would be immediately redressed by the maintenance team. This didn’t detract from our stay.
