Comfortable room but very cold bathroom. Lovely house and great breakfast
Positives: it was a beautiful historic property. Very quiet, nice gardens, lovely breakfast. Negatives: The ticket for breakfast was barely legible. Water pressure in the shower was non existent - it was just a trickle.
Lovely old large country house and gardens. Wonderful owners and a great breakfast. Would definitely stay again!
Lovely house set in a beautiful location. Sheila was very welcoming. Room was clean and comfortable.
I would definitely recommend Hundalee House for anyone looking to stay in the Jedburgh area.
Lovely friendly welcome. Would definitely recommend if you’re staying in this area.
Lovely very old house with beautiful interior features. Very good breakfast. Excellent host.
Amazing property with lovely gardens. Very welcoming owner. Good facilities. Would highly recommend it.
We would highly like to thank Shelia and Peter for their hospitality. Beautiful rooms with beautiful views (saw a couple of badgers in the garden one evening). Town was beautiful lots to see. Free parking if you want to drive, however it’s also a lovely walk (30mins into town) it’s so quiet, just what we needed to wind down and relax. Definitely slept well. Well done Sheila and Peter. Xxx
The host was lovely and the breakfast was very nice. Apart from one foot path that is not very good for the elderly to walk on you will need to use your car or get a taxi into town, but parking in the town is free.
Beautiful old house set in a nice quiet and peaceful rural location. Sheila was the perfect host and made us feel so welcome. Our bedroom/bathroom was lovely and clean and we had a nice view onto the well kept gardens. Breakfast was also very nice and included some of Sheila's delicious homemade made preserves and honey. Would definitely recommend a stay here.
lovely, cheerful welcome and explanation of the guest house. Cooked breakfast was ok but 'standard' and seemed like it had been cooked and left warming so was a bit dry.
Shower very disappointing
Very enjoyable experience
What a lovely place to stay. Beautiful setting. Wonderful old house so well kept. Bedroom was very comfortable and dining room with real fire was a treat. Sheila was very welcoming. Would love to come again.
Lovely country location but also close to town; good breakfast with lots of choice; comfortable bed; warm room; friendly host. Would recommend!
Friendly warm welcome from Sheila
Very comfortable
Very clean
Good breakfast
Would recommend without hesitation.
Im so glad i booked this place. Sheila was a wonderful host. We were made very welcome. Despite another reviewer it was easy to find. Its a quiet peaceful old farmhouse. The room had everything you need. First floir room overlooked the beautiful garden. Sheila and Peters dogs potter around the house and garden they are friendly.
Breakfast was tasty and plentiful. We would definitely stay again.
This is a beautiful farmhouse built in the 1600s. The rooms are all up a flight of stairs, so not great for mobility challenges. And I am sorry to say that the water pressure in the shower is terribly insufficient. I’m sure it’s due to the age of the place, but it took forever to get the shampoo out of my hair. The other consideration is that depending on the direction you’re approaching from, there is a white road sign marked Hundalee-but it’s EXACTLY where the “turn” is. It is little more than a barely paved driveway, and it’s a very tight turn, tighter than a u-turn. They also have two sweet dogs, Milo and Lexie, so if you have allergies, perhaps look elsewhere.
If i ever needed to tell my employers why i prefer these types of establishments rather than their choice of national hotels when working away from home , then i would only need to suggest they stay here
Host and room superb
We loved Hunderlee House. The host, Shelia, was so welcoming. The house is interesting and full of history. Sheila showed us around and made us feel at home.
The bedroom was large with tea and coffee and biscuits. The beds were clean and comfortable. The en suite was large and clean.
There were garden and woodland views from the bedroom.
The house is full of interesting, period features.
The breakfast was lovely and plentiful. Nothing was too much trouble for Shelia.
To be honest, I can't say enough good things about our stay. We would definitely stay again if we were on the Boarders.
