My family keeps coming back to Mas de Xaxas because, frankly, it just feels like home, but to make it more concrete - it’s the fascinating house itself, the warmth of the people who run it, and the exquisite food they make. The beautiful, complex, Catalan house has a timeless charm, outside and inside, in particular, where you will relax comfortably besides a fireplace, browsing century old books and marveling at all the original furniture. You will be made to feel like you are visiting friends or family - greeted with genuine warm smiles, interest and conversations. Children will feel like they are at their (very cool) grandparents’ house, roaming the halls and even enjoying their very own game room. Finally, The Fabula - restaurant being an integral part of this hotel - place where breakfasts and dinner happen, run by an amazing group of women who produce an excellent menu based on Catalan & Spanish cooking, made with love & local ingredients, and one of the best assortments of home-made cakes, pastries and sweets you will ever try.

Cons:

It comes down to personal preferences, but my family would enjoy breakfast options including eggs (omelettes, fried, boiled, anything) and yoghurt or other fermented milk products (e.g. from La Fageda).

Pros:

La ubicación es perfecta.
M Angeles muy amable y atenta al desayuno.

Cons:

Hay un salón muy bonito con una chimenea pero que lo utilizan para ampliar el restaurante durante las cenas, con lo que no podíamos sentarnos si no fuera exclusivamente para cenar. Así que no hay una zona común por si te apetece sentarte con la familia.

Hotel precioso, cálido y acogedor. Ubicación excelente, a 5 minutos de los principales lugares de interés del pueblo, habitaciones con vista a la montaña. El personal súper amable, servicios de primer nivel. Espero volver muy pronto.

Hotel Mas de Xaxas is the definition of warm hospitality!
Pros:

Everything about this hotel was perfection. The location is right in the center of town, convenient to everything yet close to the peaceful river. The hotel itself is so beautiful, with so much preserved historic character. But above all else, the hosts are so lovely and warm- it was like staying with family.
