The room was very comfortable

The hotel looked as if it's had a make over, everything clean & tidy.

As soon as we got reception staff couldn't do enough for us. First day went to the cricket got to see most of the game before rain stopped play. The rest of the match was virtually a wash out. Plodding round the town visiting places that were recommended all very good Wil be back.

The property is within 3-5 minutes walk from Taunton Station and very easy to find. Staff were friendly and welcoming throughout my stay. Reception is open 24 hours a day which is useful in case of problems.

I booked a standard single room which was clean and warm with reasonable en suite facilities although the shower was inclined to swap from very hot to cold water without warning. The fridge in the room was useful as the hotel is room only. Coffee and tea are provided, I stayed for 2 nights and it would have been good if the mug in the room had been replaced with a clean one the second night and more coffee and tea sachets left in the room. The bedside light in the room was nice but would have been improved had there been somewhere to plug it in.

Hotel clean and tidy. Staff were ALL excellent, being friendly and helpful. Location is perfect for taunton amenities. We would def stay there again

Quiet and a good location

Ok stay for one night stopover, would not have been suitable for any longer ad facilities were lacking, minimal wardrobe space, Beds not particularly comfortable, weak shower, no parking, however it was clean and the staff were nice

Disco and shouting in street until 3am!
Then another couple of songs at 5am.
Nightmare sleep.

This is a well-located and convenient hotel. I had a large clean room and access to the kitchenette where I made my supper. Good value, thank you,

Great stay! Staff so friendly and welcoming, really made the experience for us! Room extremely spacious and clean. Only downfall is there’s no floor length mirror

Do not even consider this ‘hotel’. If Expedia want photographs I have many! We stayed in room 9. The room in general was very run down but worse than the marks on the walls and doors was the filthy bathroom. We did not take a shower as it was too dirty. The worst offenders were the mattresses. Please, please, please check your mattresses (underneath the protectors) before using. Both our mattresses were heavily stained with what we assumed could only have been urine on both sides so they had been turned over and put back on the bed. They were unfit to be used in any hotel. The only saving grace was that the manager apologised and issued a full refund but only after I showed her the photographs.

The pictures shown are from rooms that are well lit but the room we were in had a side window facing the neighboring building and felt dark even during the day. Knowing that there is no air conditioning during the current hot English summer, it wasn’t the best experience. Internet was hit and miss.

The shared kitchen area was equipped with microwave, toaster, stove etc. and was usable for simple breakfast preparation.

The location is walkable from the Taunton station and 10 minute walk from all the shopping.

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. It is within close distance to the Rail Station, Cricket Stadium & Town Centre. Staff were great & very helpful. Bedroom was large & comfortable & despite being near the road was fairly quiet. Bathroom needed updating but was large. For the price I paid, the room comfort, staff & location I would say this hotel is perfect & will definitely be staying again.

Rude, Lazy, Arrogant, Unhelpful Staff
Not that you can call it a hotel but it’s the worst I’ve ever stayed in.
It would be a good idea if the company put there staff through some customer care training.

Ideal location if arriving into Taunton by train, less then 5 minutes from station about 10 minutes walk into the town centre. Also less then 10 minutes walk to cricket ground, the reason I was in Taunton.

The property is not as advertised. Staff are rude and racist and ignorant. Got to this tiny silly reception met by two rude women and whe advised that the property’s adverts were misleading they quickly ran to their office desk and put a charge to my card and never came back to me to to offer keys of a room they had charged locked themselves in their room returned an hr later still none came to help me after I raised a complaint with booking for com

What a lovely place to stay! The lady who checked me in was so lovely and showed me to my room even when she was busy. The room was gorgeous and very big. The cleanliness was fantastic and bed comfy. Totally recommend a stay here. Great rates too. Thank you Royal Ashton.
