White Sand Dhigurah

The property doesn't care for the needs of leisure vacationers. It operates like a guesthouse for persons on a ocean diving trip.

The stay was awesome the personel are super nice and professional, hotel is clean and in good location. Dive center oceanholic were amazing and had good prices and vibes. Definitely will come back!!

The hotel and facilities are excellent. I stayed for 3 weeks. Its a very short walk to the beach, either 2 minutes to the East beach or 3 minutes to the West beach. The island with its long sandy beach and blue lagoon is just beaitiful. I primarally was there for diving which is arranged by the onsite hotel dive team. Diving was great with Mantas and my first time ever in over 25 years of diving to see a whale shark during a dive, seen plenty snorkelling but never whilst diving until I went to Dhigurah island.

Some areas to improve upon is dinning really. Breakfast is okay though somewhat limited with the same stuff every day and when you're there for 3 weeks! It gets a bit boring. Also dinner selection is not great, plus expensive! For instance their curry dish consisted of 4 or 5 types of curry, great you'd think but actually they are all the same cocunut curry sauce, just with a different protien!! I ate at other places mostly.

Overall its a lovely hotel and I would stay there again and also recommend it.

The hotel has a proposal to be on the sand, until then ok, but they take advantage of it the Hall gets very dirty while the staff get together and spend most of their time smoking. The service is not the best, the staff could be more friendly. They help, but we can see that we are disturbing them. The breakfast has no variety, besides everything being industrialized, there is no natural juice, a homemade cake, that is, nothing is tasty, except for the egg station. There is a trap about room. All are sold as if they have a balcony, but only the most expensive has a balcony, the others have a micro balcony, which does not fit a person standing, adapted only to dry clothes. In addition, these rooms are located at the bottom of a thicket and on the first day we have the visit of two giant and flying cockroaches, which were seen as normal for the staff. Finally, it is important to note that although the white sand is not the best hotel in dhigurah, it is the one that charges the most for its food, tours, transfers etc. My tip, stay at the dhiguveli hotel, the food is excellent there, all rooms have a balcony, without exception and the tours are on average 20% cheaper.

Wir hatten eine der zwei Suiten die wirklich sehr grosszuegig geschnitten sind. Auch das Bad ist riesig. Ich wuerde jedem empfehlen, ein normales Zimmer zu nehmen, damit die Suite auch naechstes Jahr wieder fuer uns frei ist.

Really amazing stay,staff were all really nice and made sure we had a comfortable stay. I liked that they used local staff and that it's locally owned as well. Reehan organised a trip to a sandbank for the day which was also beautiful.

It was our first trip to Maldives and we booked 2 rooms at The White Sand Dhigurah Hotel. If I could rate them on a scale from 1 to 10 I would give them 20!! Amazing service and warm wonderful people!! The rooms were super clean and comfortable! The food (we got full board) was delicious! They were so nice to accommodate our vegan diet and it was way beyond what we were expecting! The whole time we spent there we felt so well taken care of: excursions and transportation were arranged (scuba, snorkeling) promptly, food was delicious, staff was so kind and respectful! We felt so sad to leave at the end and we're going to be coming back for sure!
If you're looking into booking this hotel - do it! You won't regret it!

Awful

We were contacted by the hotel prior to our holidays about the transport,and they organised booking of domestic flight from Malé to Maamigili, including speedboat. We were met at the port in Dhigurah, got breakfast at the hotel while our bags were carried to the room, and early check in was not a problem (not high season). The staff was very welcoming.
The bathtub room was spacious and clean (room cleaning twice a day). Daily we received one 1.5L bottle of water.
The beach at the westside of the island is a short walk(< 5min) from the hotel, with sunbeds shared with guests from other hotels. Also towels and beach mats were available at the hotel. The beach was clean with white sand and crystal clear water. One everning we had a special dinner at the beach under the stars, beautifully prepared by the hotel personnel with palm decorations and lights; an unforgettable and very appreciated experience.
At the eastern side of the island the shallow reefs and sudden deepening of the water does not allow for beach life, and it is not cleaned as the west, hence regrettably full of plastic.
The hotel has its own diveshop, Oceanholic, which we went diving with every day of our stay. It is easy to book the diving every evening before the dives in the morning. The boat also take snorkellers, for whale shark and manta trips. The crew is professional and very good at spotting both mantas and whale sharks. As the shop opened around one year ago the dive equipment is great.

Abbiamo trascorso una bellissima settimana al White sand, accolti con un cocco e salviettine rinfrescanti dopo 2 ore circa di speedy boat perfettamente organizzato dalla struttura.
L'hotel è una bella struttura a pochi metri dalla bikini beach, la stanza ampia, pulitissima con un letto comodissimo e ben climatizzata. Bagno ampio con doccia spaziosa e morbidi asciugamani, pulizia della stanza con cambio asciugamani ben 2 volte al giorno, durante la colazione ed all'ora di cena! Ottimo breakfast a buffet, la cena viene servita nel roof sotto le stelle, ampia scelta di piatti molto buoni. In generale il servizio è da hotel 5 stelle, il personale discreto e cortese sempre attento alle esigenze dei clienti, straconsigliato!

Had a short, but pleasant stay at this hotel. The staff is amazing and would do everything possible to make you feel comfortable.

The hotel was very clean and the room was nice. It is not located on the beach, but it takes about few meters to walk there, so this is not an issue.

The food at their restaurant was really tasty and also at a reasonable price, compared with other hotels and restaurants.

They offer a variety of tours and their whale shark tour is highly recommended. The staff took extra care of the people that weren't very good swimmers and also gave them the opportunity to see the sharks by accompanying them in the water.

Would recommend this place.

We had a great time the hotel was very nice, new,clean and near to the beach. the staff was extremely helpful and caring. the island was one of the biggest and had the best and biggest beachline and a magnificent sandbank. definitely better than a private resort! we managed to get a touch of the local life and eat local food. another great thing was swimming with a whale shark organized by the diving school of the hotel. definitely recommend the hotel and the island! done spend your money on expensive resorts!

Brandneu - erst im November 2017 eröffnet. Das Hotel hatte uns den Transfer (Inlandsflug und Speedboat) von Male gebucht, was 1a funktioniert hat. Wir wurden am internationalen Flughafen mit Schild empfangen, uns wurden die Koffer abgenommen und sogar der Check in für den Inlandsflug wurde übernommen. Am Jetty der Flughafeninsel war der Service auch großartig und wir hatten ein komfortables Speedboat für uns allein. In Dighurah wurden wir vom Manager und einem Pickup abgeholt.

Wir hatten die Suite im obersten Stockwerk gebucht - großes Zimmer mit Balkon und riesiges Bad mit Dusche und Jaccuzi - tw. offen (über dem großzügigen Jaccuzi). Im Zimmer Safe, Minibar und Coffe/Tea Making Facilities. Jeden Tag wurde uns eine gratis 1,5l Flasche Trinkwasser aufs Zimmer gestellt. Wir waren danach noch 1 Woche auf einer vielfach teureren Ressort Insel, wo wir für jeden Schluck Wasser zahlen mussten. Das einzig unangenehme: nebenan waren Bauarbeiten, die jedoch abends/nachts nicht weiter störten.

Frühstücksbuffet war relativ einfach, aber doch ausreichend - tw. auch mit maledivischen Spezialitäten (Thunfisch/Kokossalat mit Chapatti - ausgezeichnet). Touren und Massagen sowie Transfers werden angeboten - zu denselben Preisen wie überall auf der Insel (quasi Monopol ...)

Schöner Bikini Beach 2 min vom Hotel. Die Insel ist 3,1 km lang und vom Hotel sind es ca 2 km bis zur Spitze mit einer ewig langen wunderschönen weißen Sandbank. Unbedingt den Strand entlang nach vorne spazieren!
