Pros:

It is very convenient to reach the hotel by underground from airport. The facilities are little old. The breakfast is very good.

Possibly the best hotel in Urumqi. A solid 4 Star
Pros:

I had a one night stop over in Urumqi in August 2018. The airline had complimentary hotel arrangement but I booked Universal Hotel on my own. It is a solid 4 star hotel with a luxury ambiance and rooms are tidy and comfortable. The hotel has good restaurants, including one with Muslim (halal) meals.

The distance is about 20 Mins from the airport and that makes it quite convenient. There is a night club right beside the property and that does make it a bit noisy.

One downside: Hardly any one speaks English at the reception and this one person named BILL was my focal point of contact for queries.
