Très bel établissement
We tailgated into the car park but pressing the buzzer gains the receptionists attention to open the gates - not sure what the parking options are if it’s full as it was fairly quiet when we visited.
Check in was easy & there’s a lift to all floors.
We had a garden facing room with a big bed, lots of storage and a good size but a bit of a curates egg: brown shag-pile carpet, in the 21st century, really? The weirdest thing for me though is that you can’t alter the a/c temperature yourself, you have to ring reception to get them to change it. That’s just plain stupid.
There’s a bar & restaurant, which we used. The fixed price menu is fine apart from the strange whipped cream cheese course which was not pleasant (note to chef - change it!).
Verdun is on your doorstep and easily walkable with bars and restaurants just on the other side of the bridge and the tourist information office just around the corner.
Tried booking the hotel direct and it was extortionate but affordable through Expedia.
Great Breakfast , very helpful staff
U uh it’s the only one
Very elegant comfortable and centrally located hotel
Beautiful building and helpful staff
Hotel agréable, restaurant de bonne qualité et accueil sympathique
I enjoyed my stay here and believe this is probably the best hotel in Verdun. The staff was friendly and excellent, the breakfast was reasonably priced and satisfactory, and everything at the hotel was functional and clean. Location is central and parking is adequate.
If this was a larger city I think they might have a harder time keeping a four-star rating. The brown shag carpet in my room didn’t inspire confidence and should be replaced. The fact that guests can’t control the thermostat in their rooms (permanently fixed at 20c) and need to call the desk for adjustments is a new one for me. And, lastly, the property must have just done some deep cleaning or renovation because there was a strong chemical smell everywhere on my floor, including my room, which was bothersome. Hopefully that isn’t a permanent feature.
There’s room for improvement but if you’re going to Verdun I’d recommend this hotel.
Perfekt!
Excellent stay. Ask for room away from river as there is a bar on the river that is loud.
The beds and pillows were the most comfortable of our trip; the staff was welcoming and helpful. Our stay here was our favorite hotel of our entire trip; couldn't have asked for a better place! We hope to return soon. Thank-you!
It was fine but the room was very cold. After 4 blankets we were OK.
It was actually whatever comes after amazing. My wife and I absolutely Love the hotel And Verdun. The ladies at the front desk were some of the best I have ever dealt with anywhere in the world.
I travel a lot, all around Europe and the world. I rarely write reviews, and never negative. I've decided to write a review on this occasion, as I think it's important to keep my fellow travellers well informed.
All in all, the hotel has a significant potential but perhaps due to limited guest flow it fails to deliver what it possibly can.
Pros:
- Central: The hotel is situated in Verdun city centre, just next to the river.
- Parking: There is a secure and very convenient car park in the property.
- Decoration: The rooms are nice, and seem to have been recently decorated.
- Cleanliness: the hotel is clean and well maintained in general.
Cons:
- Check in: check in time is 4:00pm... I've never seen anything like this. We turned up at 2:00pm, and the hotel was empty - no cars in the car park, and not a single person other than the receptionist to be seen anywhere. Yet we were told that our room was not ready. Do they not clean the rooms after guests leave?
- Rooms: I specifically booked a room with "a City view" as I know Verdun was going to be beautiful. The view was to the side wall of a building nearby. If this was the last room in the hotel, I could have possibly accepted that this is s City view. But no, I am pretty sure that we were either the only ones in the hotel, or one of the very few there.
- Amenities: the restaurant was closed. Not a big issues as there are other restaurants in the area.
- Bar: there is a bar indeed but it only works 6:00pm-9:00pm.

Liked location , friendly efficient staff.
Disliked lack of restaurant patchy wi fi
Pleasant.
Stayed here in order to tour WW1 battlefields with a guide. 2 nights. Room was clean, all in working order, modern. Restaurant was closed—we knew that arriving. Bar was open. Location is excellent across the River Meuse from the town center—all walkable. Staff was friendly and attentive—I would be happy to visit again.
