The location. The breakfast was decent.
The fact didnt offer food, when it was advertised as saying it did. The receptionist looked unhappy and was disinterested.
The room size was good. I’d booked a Superior Twin, but we were given a family suite.
1. When booking, it said there was free parking, however, it turns out the spaces are limited, so I had to find a space on the busy streets outside. It should’ve said something like “Limited free parking” when booking, but luckily this was a minor inconvenience for us as we arrived late and would leave before the parking enforcement kicked in (we had to park on a single yellow line), but it would be a major inconvenience to someone who was looking to park longer.
2. When I entered the room, I thought I’d entered someone else's room, as the main double bed was unmade. It turned out the room had not been cleaned or made up from the previous person. What made it worse, which was partly the fault of the previous disgusting guest, was my daughter found a used tampax in plain sight in the bathroom bin - it hadn’t been wrapped in tissue or anything.
It was late when we checked in, and luckily the previous guest had only used one of the three beds, so we decided to just use the two untouched beds, even though one appeared to be an occasional type bed with a weekly padded mattress. When I asked for fresh towels, they were only able to find one towel for the two of us. The lady who was dealing with us on the desk was really apologetic, and left fresh towels outside the room in the morning, as I requested, but the management of this hotel seems really poor. Firstly for not checking the rooms had been cleaned, and secondly for not having a reasonable amount of spare towels etc. in case of emergency. I’d hate to think what would’ve happened if the previous guest had used all the beds!!
Everything especially the spa
location
apart from a lot of stairs It was a very hot weekend and it was very hot in the room in the top of the building at night and it only had a small window to open for ventilation, but I think this would be an exception.
Location was very good, and managed to get a park on the street and free. Breakfast was good.
Hotel needs sprucing up. Bathroom a little awkward with basin taps too close to basin edges.
Shower door has been attached incorrectly so it's not possible to close the door and awkward to get in the shower past the door. Can't understand how it hasn't been fixed long before now?? Room small.
Had disabled wet room bathroom. Shower wanted to take home.
The refund
The hotel was like a dirty dungeon amd the rooms were like a box room with enough space for a bed had to walk down the hall for a toilet
Breakfast was great...location fabulous only 2 mins to seafront
Difficult to find the car park
Can't say booked there stayed somewhere else not what I booked
Not what it said booked the hotel stayed two blogs away no parking stayed because there was nowhere else and I was staying somewhere else for two nights after this
Arrived to be told we where moved to their other hotel!! No explanation from
Either hotel reception or reason
Did not stay where we had booked
The area was busy but clean and well maintained. Breakfast was good and plenty of choice. Had an issue when checking in but was resolved quickly and satisfactory. Staff were pleasant and helpful.
Very little parking and restricted with times on the street, the rear of hotel only 3 spaces. Hotel states free parking available at the hotel but you cannot reserve. When there's 40+ rooms its very misleading as its on first cone basis
Breakfast and lounge area
Everything, except breakfast. Not sure if the linen had been changed as the pillowslip was insideout and bedding was wrinkled!
Great location, comfy rooms, great value for money, and !!!! an outstanding breakfast.
