Excellent staff in dilapidated hotel.
Pros:

The new managers were excellent
Location

Cons:

Place needs major overhaul.
Showers hard to gain access in baths accident waiting to happen
Furniture in bedroom antiquated.
Windows hardly open.
Spend some money on it it’s a lovely building.
Rooms based outside the pub are in terrible state.. stairs to gain access to the rooms are in terrible condition and the rooms you can hardly move in as we were first given one of these but had to get it changed

No one acknowledged us leaving the next morning despite seeing us trying to find the way out.
Pros:

A big bath

Cons:

Old outdated room, light fittings loose, sash window propped open with a bit of cord that when removed, slammed shut on my partners hand, just really shabby and a feeling that the hotel couldn't care less. Paying well over £100 per night for a room doesn't even get you the basics nowadays

Filthy, over priced and mislead by the website room pictures.
Pros:

As a reputable corporate company I had reasonable expectations of a £100 a night room in Marston Inn hotel and the website pictures of rooms looked quite nice. OMG probably the mankiest hotel room I’d ever stayed in. Room was tiny, barely big enough for the bed and as long as the duvet was not overhanging the bed, you could open the bathroom door to the filthy dated bathroom complete with stained plastic toilet seat, shower that barely worked and bath that looked like it had never been cleaned. Added to this a gloriously stained single mug, an equally filthy glass and 1 towel. Room was at the back of the property in an annex block, overlooked a building site and derelict car park and was last painted in 70s I recon. These are not the rooms in the website and when it became apparent the space below the room was also the staff smoking area, we just left. We would have told someone about it but no one around Sunday morning and you bet we didn’t pay for the additional breakfasts to further test the hygiene of the place. A disgrace at £100 / night, minimum 2 night stay and break fast extra.

Cons:

Just don’t stay there.
