The rather confusing one way roads around the central Carlisle area! Hotel was fine.

Friendly, ever so helpful staff. Beautiful old building, tastefully furnished and decorated. Fabulous breakfast with the best host. Dogs welcomed. Great value. A few minutes walk to the castle and the park. Secure parking although limited spaces.

Great location and the staff could not be more helpful, the rooms are a little tired but kept really clean. I was only there overnight as travelling for work, however one of the nicest places I’ve stayed. The small pool was an added bonus

I was in the 'annex' this time and front door doesn't close properly which meant when smokers were outside the smell came straight in..
Location is perfect for seeing old town centre, cathedral and castle. Staff are all v friendly.

The room and en suite were both very cold on arrival - both the radiator and towel rail were turned off. It was a cold day, the central heating system clearly old, and it took hours before the rooms reached a comfortable temperature.
