The Hotel tells the story of its life and history. Rebuilt in 1905 is there to see getting a bit tied but you can beat History love the pillars.

Fantastic location right in the town centre, convenient free car parking, friendly and efficient reception staff and good sized room with good amenities.
Looks a little tired and old fashioned. That said, everything was well maintained, clean and worked well. We really enjoyed our stay.
The staff were lovely and my room was clean and had all the amenities I wanted. Some extra touches like a washing line and an iron were nice to have. The location was great. It was a five minute walk to the station and castle and a two minute walk to the beautiful cathedral.
The pool is very small and doesn't really accommodate more than two people swimming laps at one time.

Really friendly, helpful staff. Hotel much better than a few years ago, so if you want a place to stay in the centre of Carlisle within reach of the Cathedral and museum, I would highly recommend it. Breakfast excellent. We didn't try the restaurant.

The hotel is a little tired but as described and good for the price
I stayed in the hotel while walking the Hadrian´s wall path. Situated in the center of the city quite close to the most important historical landmarks like the cathedral or the castle. The staff was nice, I was a little bit unlucky because there was no hot water in the hotel that evening because of a technical breakdown, but I got it compensated by an excellent breakfast free of charge. I was satisfied with my room, the cleanliness and the nice and helpfull staff.
I didn´t find anything directly bad, it was an old traditional hotel and the experience corresponding to it.

The handbasin to the bathroom was in the bedroom not the bathroom!
Staff were super friendly and helpful during the stay. Facilities were amazing so nice to have a pool ans jacuzzi. Location was good too in central Carlisle perfect for a stop over up to Glasgow! And if your staying in Carlisle. Wi-fi was good and room was clean fantastic value for money!
Just my opinion but bed was a bit hard for my liking just somting to bear it in mind if you like a soft bed but not anything to complain about just a point to make.
