I would help when your sleeping in a room you could open the windows especially in last week regarding the heat old widows where totally jammed no good fire risk in the first instance
Location was great, Breakfast was good and overall very good value for money.
The rooms are looking a little tired and dated and the water pressure was awful.

The hotel is ideally located in the heart of Carlisle. Everything is just a short walk away. The hotel has a historic allure. The room was functional, but could use a little refurbishment.
The staff was very kind and helpful. There was a problem with our room which was dealt quickly by the staff.
Booking.com said the room that I had booked would have BATH , but the room I assigned has no BATH only shower. Among several rooms l booked the room that was a little bit expensive than others because the room was introduced with BATH. It was very disappointing. The explanation was untruth!
The staff on arrival were excellent. Very helpful with accessing the car park and parking location (motorbike).
In the room the sink was with the bed, not in the bathroom. The sink had no soap and the tissue box on the wall was ion the holder, but was empty.
At breakfast I went to get some hot food, after eating fresh fruit. Upon return my serviette had gone along with the spoon, taken from my teacup, which I was still using! I had to take replacements from elsewhere.

Good location, staff were friendly and allowed us to park after check-out for a few hours. We only had a small room but the building itself was very grand
No hot water for the two mornings we were there. I'm sure the boiler issues were temporary but not being able to have a hot shower isn't really acceptable
Breakfast good. Hotter on the 2nd morning. Very good choice.
Cool old hotel, well kept, central
Stairways and hallways in many directions like an mc Escher piece and stained glass windows, a bar, a hot tub and small pool.
We had a room we could move about in easily...and a bathtub!
Would stay again. Good value.
Bar staff were a bit grumpy but we got a wonderful welcome at the front desk.
It is an older property but we like the vibe of that
