Views, location, spa
Poor value for money had to pay extra for spa
The location, nicely decorated. We loved the spa with the outdoor pool area overlooking the lake and hills
Nothing
Lovely place and nice staff
Loved it
Location comfort and facilities were great
Only one very small lift. Very inadequate and almost impossible to negotiate as the Hotel was busy. A very big minus and would be the only reason I would not recommend the Hotel. A definite game changer
The hotel is very nice and tidy and the breakfast is very good can’t comment on food as we ate out
Paid £20 short of £600 for a Mountain View got a dirty roof view with a extractor fan running 24/7 room too hot no a/c had a fan in the room but very noisy did not sleep for two nights no fridge and no slippers and dressing grown for the females
Location and Mizu restaurant
Breakfast - bread could have been more fresh
The location and views are perfect. The staff were friendly and attentive.
Because they call the hotel swimming pool a ‘hydropool’ it’s not accessible with standard room bookings and is an additional £45/person for a 2 hour Spa bookable slot. Room was sickly hot all night in May with only portable fans as inadequate respite - £300 per night B&B room with no AC?!
Relaxing atmosphere throughout the full stay.
Breakfast menu did not identify gluten free foods. Ordered the full Cumbrian breakfast, half of it wasn't gluten free and they didn't offer to replace those items (sausage, black pudding and hash browns) with other items, then they brought out the gf breakfast with hash brown on it (so it had to go back).
Staffs knowledge of gf food and the spa facilities were dirty in some (not all) areas of the spa.
Room was ok, nothing particular wrong with it, but the skirting boards had chips of wood missing, wall paper had marks over it and bed side drawers had a chip in it. For the price I expected better.
Beautiful hotel and close to the lake
I paid £350 for a night. I was not able to access the pool and this would have cost another £90 for two hours. The continental break was great. The cooked breakfast was a real let down, in the sense that it took a very long time to arrive and was then not what I asked for. The sausages were not even cooked. I definitely would not go back to this place.
Beautiful location, lovely view. Rooms nicely decorated. Lounge area nice to sit and relax.
Access to spa very limited despite having to pay extra. We couldn’t access on 2 of the 4 days we would have liked to, definitely need to pre book. Consider expensive to have to pay £40 per person on top of room fee to access (which wasn’t available anyway….) Food in brasserie restaurant very average, including breakfast. All sauces watered down. Mizu was definitely the better restaurant on offer. Rooms were decorated nicely but mattress was hard.
Love the location of the hotel
Not sure its very good value for money tho. Practically everything is overpriced and does it become a dog-friendly room just because it has 2 dog bowls in. Easy access to outside seems better suitability rather than on the 2nd floor which the lift cannot fit a dog on a lead.
What’s not to like .. stunning !
We used the spa and they had apples which we could take but they were super shiny and it became quickly apparent they were coated in wax and polished up to be shiny … gross ! We didn’t eat one!
