Staff, facilities, location and general feeling of the place we're all absolutely perfect
No jacuzzi in the pool, bar could of had a hand pour pump and a broader wine list.
I had requested an accessible room through Booking.com but this message. had not been passed to the hotel and the room they had reserved for us had up a long flight of stairs. The hotel staff were quick to prepare an accessible for us. So a sad face for Booking.com and a smiley face for hotel staff.
It was a lovely swimming pool but only accessible down 4 very high steps. I really struggled to get out of the pool.
Lovely friendly staff
Nothing
Great pool
Great location
4th time visiting
We came with our grandchildren who loved the pool… breakfast was lovely.. would definitely come back .
I think it was a lamp in the kids room .. if I remember it was something to do with the main light in kids room
Lovely hotel, clean, big rooms, restaurant staff excellent and food great
Room was a very cold during night ?
Very nice location, very nice rooms and restaurant food was excellent!!! We also could use spa and pool facilities which made our stay even better. Also big plus dog friendly.
The swimming pool could have been deeper :)) but athor than that it’s an amazing stay!!
The grounds
How old it is
Sauna, swimming pool and sports facilities; the conservatory; the grounds where our dog could run and play off the lead. Cleanliness. Informal comfort.
The standard double room was a little small, especially as we had a dog with us. I would have liked a double socket outlet near a mirror, for hair styling
We had a wonderful weekend and were given the warmest welcome from the moment we walked in the reception. Check-in was quick and easy and we were helped to our lovely room, which was spacious, clean and comfortable. We particularly enjoyed the pool, which allowed our child free access all day, while my husband and I could take turns in the sauna. Staff were all really lovely and super kind to our son, especially in the great bar, where we ate and enjoyed some fantastic cocktails and the staff made our little boy feel so welcome that he didn't want to leave 😀 Over all a great family experience and a super hotel, we would love to come and stay again. Thank you all ! X
No big deal but we would have appreciated a fridge in the room.
The hotel’s remote location made it feel calm and peaceful, which really added to the overall experience. The pool and steam room were particularly relaxing, and it was lovely that the spa area never felt too busy, so you could properly enjoy the facilities.
One thing I noticed was that the room doors tend to slam quite loudly, which can be a little disruptive, particularly in the evenings or early morning.
The location is fabulous and all the staff were welcoming, polite, friendly & helpful. The swimming pool & spa is lovely.
There is nothing not to like about Cricklade House Hotel & Spa!
Fantastic very attentive friendly staff and fantastic food
Very disappointed with the quality of the food. We had especially returned to Cricklade house to celebrate our anniversary, having married here 9 years ago. The main course was satisfactory ( fish and chips/ steak and chips) but the desserts were both poor. The rhubarb crumble was crunchy rather than crumbly. The creme brûlée was described as being delivered warm with an almond and pistachio wafer however the reality was a very small cold brûlée with a rock hard biscuit. We did say to the server that we were very dissatisfied with the brûlée especially- response was a giggle and ‘ I’ve told the chef’
Don’t think we’ll do a return visit next anniversary
Younger staff were friendly
All of it. Over priced. Bathroom had leaking tap and broken toilet roll holder. Taps were scruffy. Bed was hard and windows opened onto carpark but no latch to stop them being opened from outside. Wedding next day; lots of people walking past room to get to theirs. Overpriced spa but no jacuzzi. Stuart the manager came across as abrupt and girl organising function room hadn't completed the room in advance of those needing to set up decorations and singer. Food was overpriced but dry. The evening entitlement were not provided with a meal of any kind.
Helpful friendly staff.
Fantastic room.
Relaxed atmosphere.
Toilet could have been cleaned better
