Staff was exceptional. Location perfect for our needs( wedding in a neighbouring small town). A small mini bar fridge would have been good. Also, staff should have warned us that coming in after hours requires a special code. We came back from a wedding very late and had to call and wake up the staff to get the code. No complaints from staff though.
We were delighted witht the whole experience. The hotel has been beautifully referbished (some rooms still being worked on. Our reception was friendly and professional, our room lovely, the evening meal, a mixture of classic cooking with a modern twist, delicious. Breakfast was great too. A young family have recently taken over the hotel, and we could see they are going to make a great success of it. Every one was friendly and helpful, making the whole stay so enjoyable. We will certainly go again.
My wife and I have been visiting Hotel St. Louis over a number of years and have never been dis-appointed. It is convenient to Channel Ferries and has safe parking. The staff are very helpful and dinner presentation and food excellent. Breakfast was also good value. Main wing of Hotel also has a lift to all floors.
Traditional hotel.excellent food. Friendly staff
Lovely hotel and amazing food- desert trolley was a definite highlight!
A delightful and well-managed property in its own attractive grounds. This was a convenient stopover on our return journey. We were made to feel very welcome and we enjoyed a superb dinner.
Having visited here twenty years ago we were delighted to find the hotel was equally as good. The reception was welcoming and the food is so good - it was not a surprise to find the restaurant absolutely full. Would recommend
Lovely friendly hotel with an excellent restaurant
Overall a pleasant stay. Very warm on first night so left bedroom window open in attempt to cool room. Unfortunately this allowed a couple of mosquitos in and suffered consequences. Mentioned warm room at reception following morning and they supplied fan so had more comfortable second night.
Easy to find, on-site parking, friendly welcome, spacious and clean room with on-suite bathroom and toilet, very good food, excellent service.
Not so fond of the depressing canned "music" in the dining-room, but I suppose I'm in the minority.
Last day of business trip also part holiday with my 10 year old grandson. Very nice couple who own this lovely hotel. Though girl on reception was a little surly. All other staff very good. Rooms large and comfortable, be warned if on the larger size do not sit in Bath as one can get stuck very narrow. Rooms not expensive but Restaurant was. Food was excellent and they were very good with my grandson. smaller starter portion of salmon and mussels and made a chicken pasta for him as a main dish. Wine list good. We spent more on a business night thn usual but it was all very good.
Excellent stopover in every respect. The staff were charming and the dinner spectacular.
Our stay was very pleasant. Room was good, staff were lovely and the food was excellent. It was my birthday treat to myself and I was not disappointed. I would thoroughly recommend the hotel to anyone.
Superb restaurant and service. Convenient location for travel to UK
The staff are very helpful and couldn’t be bettered.
Great restaurant helpful friendly staff .Creaky bedroom floor .
Fantastic family run hotel in rural France, our room was a little dated, but clean, comfortable and with the provision of tea/coffee making facilities.
Customer service from all staff impeccable and the lady owner was faultless she made us feel extremely welcome at all times.
The food was the best bit. We will definitely return, thank you Bea, family and staff.
Situated in a quiet village, this lovely building houses a good hotel with excellent chef/proprietor. We have stayed a few times over the last 27 years and have always enjoyed it. From the warm welcome from Madam to her husbands excellent cooking, this is always a great experience. The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable and the whole visit is a perfact relaxation.
Really nice and friendly hotel about forty minutes from Calais. Great food and wine only stayed for one night but Would go back to stay again when in France.
We stayed in a standard double, the room was spacious and the decor was in keeping with the style of the hotel. Everything was clean and worked properly. We had dinner in the restaurant, and although we didn't rave about the cooking as much as other reviewers, it was perfectly adequate and we enjoyed the meal. The best thing about this hotel is definitely the staff, who were all exceptionally friendly and welcoming, and it is a nice period building in a very tranquil rural area.
