Recently refurbished so very smart
TV too complex - couldn’t get BBC
The Redesdale has just had an extensive refurbishment which is stunning, they have used lots of reclaimed wood and have nice features throughout the bars and restaurant, lovely furniture and lampshades etc., making it all look very cozy. It has large seating areas and various snugs with fireplaces. Outside seating is very large and the garden has been made to enclose the seating on a sunny terrace.
The hot breakfast was fabulous and offered lots of choice, great value for money, beautifully cooked and presented. You can add extras for no extra charge!
We didn't eat lunch or dinner here but other dinners food looked exceptional.
Our bedroom and bathroom were large and the bed very comfortable, lots of nice white towels were provided.
We had parking outside our room which was much appreciated.
Very good location to walk the village and surrounding areas, close to lots of attractions in the Cotswolds.
No one on Reception to check us in, a waiting staff member fetched someone in the end, no apology or welcome, given key to our room and told us about breakfast times. We had to ask about parking as we had parked on a 2hr slot at the front of the hotel.
The parking space was littered with debris and had a 3 inch spring dropped where a tyre could have driven over..... litter was also outside the door which didn't look good. The bedroom carpet was heavily stained and didn't look hoovered.
No biscuits on the coffee tray, and nut flavoured coffees on offer. ( I have a severe nut allergy)
The cold buffet was depleted and not topped up. We had to ask a waiting staff member for orange juice and bowls there were no side plates for toast so we used our saucers!
Hot food was served and no dirty dishes were removed from the table making it rather tight for tables of 2. Guests don't want to sit looking at dirty dishes or tables that need clearing yet the waiting staff would walk away empty handed and past debris riddled tables and return to clear them once the guests had left?
A guy behind the bar said they have only been open a week, maybe a bit more attention to detail and staff training would be beneficial.
Location brilliant in the centre of the village. Bus stop outside & 8 min walk to the train station.
Decor is stunning as it has just had a revamp . It was luxury plus! Rooms very spacious & fan provided as no aircon. Wonderful selection for breakfast.
There wasn’t anything other than a little bit of noise from the beautiful outdoor garden area . It closed down each night at an early time.
Clean, tidy and staff wishing to assist.

Lovely new courtyard terrace and dining bar areas have been very well refurbished.
Staff were very accommodating and friendly and helped sort out a twin room when they had not received that request from Booking.com
The shower was very small in our bathroom - would be good if they could make that bigger.
Excellent breakfast. Extremely comfortable but a little noisy over the bar though.
What a lovely breakfast! Not only buffet but also à la carte included..so tasty, a perfect start of the day!
nothing
Spacious room and very clean
Absolutely wonderful! The refurbishment beautifully blends traditional Cotswold character with a fresh, elegant feel. From the cosy interiors to the gorgeous outdoor spaces, there was something to admire around every corner.
What we particularly loved was how family-friendly it felt. The girls were made so welcome and were given one of the brilliant Honeycomb activity bags, filled with colouring, games, puzzles and activities to keep little hands busy while the grown-ups could relax and enjoy the meal (and wine!) 🍷 🍽️🎨
The food was delicious, the staff were warm and welcoming, and the whole experience felt relaxed, thoughtful and genuinely enjoyable for all of us.
Will definitely return!
Nothing.
Arriving at the hotel to find the hotel was under full renovations and we had no room. We had booked the hotel in January and was not aware that our booking was not available. Up until 2 days before we were receiving messages saying we are looking forward to your visit. We are still getting messages to review the hotel. Booking .com you owe us compensation. Please reply to our messages.
Not happy Booking.com
The location and the size of the lovely comfy bed
Could’ve done with a few more coat hangers and maybe a couple of hooks in the room for coats
Nice food offering and bar, very comfortable room and good service.
Great staff, really good rooms
