Comfy cosy stay @ The Coppersmith
Pros:

I was in a room on level 2 - the corridors are lovely & wide - the room was lovely & comfy & even though I don’t drink it - had little coffee pod coffee makers in the rooms. Appelles toiletries in the bathroom is always a lovely touch. The bed & pillows were both comfortable & the property was clean and neat.
In a handy location to MSAC & the Sth Melbourne Markets.

Cons:

The room was pretty quiet on the night I stayed - unsure what it would be like when the hotel downstairs (or rooftop bar) is busy.

Pleasant hotel in charming South Melbourne. But need to be careful with the room selection.
Pros:

A charming boutique hotel with a very good pub, located in a particularly pleasant neighbourhood. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the place has plenty of character.

Cons:

One small point that may help future guests: the hotel website prominently features the king-size room (#2). We booked with that image somewhat in mind, although in fairness the room sizes are listed. Our room on the second floor turned out to be smaller, and the lower half of the windows was blocked by a wall, which made the room feel rather enclosed. From what we could tell, this may apply to other rooms on that floor as well.

To the hotel’s credit, we were able to move to a room on the first floor with a proper window one could actually look out of. After that adjustment, we settled in comfortably and enjoyed the stay.

It might perhaps be helpful if the website made it a little clearer that room #2 is the only king-size room and that some rooms have restricted window views.

Pros:

The room was very quiet and comfortable. The bathroom excellent. I enjoyed having a quiet dinner in the downstairs bar. The lady playing guitar and singing on the Thursday night was a highlight. I would stay here again. All staff were also very friendly.

We loved it. Warm, friendly, clean, convenient.
Pros:

The location, having the bar and restaurant onsite, the super friendly staff, the food was superior when compared with other bars in the area, the cleanliness of the room. We couldn’t fault it. Highly recommended.

We couldn’t fault it. It met all of our needs and exceeded our expectations. We would definitely stay again.
