Disaster for sleeping properly
Pros:

It was located where I needed that night

Cons:

They should not be selling rooms on a Friday and Saturday night. The large downstairs becomes a night club with thumping music playing until 00 30 and affects all the rooms. Mine was directly above loud sound system.
I asked for my money back and they said I need to claim from Booking.com

Great location for a short stay
Pros:

Great location and good value for money.

Cons:

Noisy disco in the bar until around midnight and VERY hot room. It was a very hot day unfortunately and I would expected there to be fans supplied in the bedrooms but as there was not this made for an uncomfortable night’s sleep.

Never stayed anywhere so noisy and hot! Won’t make this mistake again
Pros:

Did not stay in room for long
Did not have breakfast

Cons:

Getting to the room was first hurdle lots of stairs and doors and narrow very hot corridors to go through and all was dark, dingy and the handrail to get to the second floor was very low. The room was exceptionally hot and the one window that opened did not blow breeze into room only the small area it was in there was a fan but that did nothing and felt like was going to fall apart
Bathroom was like a sauna no window and an extractor that came on only with the dim light, no hand rail by bath.
Bed was comfortable and clean but the room looked dirty with chipped paint and the carpets could be cleaner
The noise was horrific from the high street and shutting the window meant you couldn’t breathe because of the heat there is a night club on other side of road that closes at 3.30 on a Saturday so the noise from people coming going fighting meant no real sleep until about 4-4.30
Spent as much time out of room as possible due to how hot it was

Nice hotel in general, struggled in heatwave
Pros:

Location is ideal for the town and surrounding venues
Staff were really welcoming and helpful
Beds were comfortable and extra pillows were available
Fans were provided to help with the heat
Food was really good too, plenty of different breakfast and dinner options

Cons:

No Aircon in the rooms and in the heatwave it was a struggle to sleep, windows were only able to open a bit so almost no airflow, our room had no bathroom window either that could have helped
Plug sockets were in awkward places and not necessarily near beds
Only stairs up to rooms, no accessibility lift available
Heating was on in the reception area, which during the hot weather made it worse in there
DJ on to really late, super loud to rooms above and difficult to sleep until it finished

terrible
Pros:

my colleagues said nothing

Cons:

My colleagues advised it was the worst stay they have had, no fans in the rooms, rooms over the kitchen with heat rising into the room, and no cold water in the room, so they could only clean their teeth with hot water
3 of my colleagues could not stay as it was too hot, breakfast was not included, and the price of the room was over the top, for what they got, we could have a lovely stay at Millom's for that cost, our General manager was so disappointed the website gave a different picture

This place has lots of issues!
Pros:

It was in a convenient place for our needs.

Cons:

There were long delays on the M25 and even though book in was ok until 23.00 we tried on three occasions to call ahead to let them know the situation and were still on our way.
When we arrived the place was in darkness and we met another couple in the carpark who had the same issue.
The emergency mobile number stuck on the door went straight to voicemail on the numerous occasions both we and the other guests tried it.
After hammering on the door for a considerable time a staff member eventually - who looked like he had just got out of bed, as he came down the stairs adjusting his clothing - came and opened the door. The reception was stiflingly hot. When we asked why the place was closed we were told ‘the person must have left early! Not very professional to go home early when there were still two sets of guests outstanding and also have nobody to answer the emergency contact number.
We stayed in Room 3 which has definitely seen better days, the paintwork is chipped and the rest of the decor and furnishings are grubby and outdated.
The bedding and towels were clean and the bed was comfy. The cleaner was friendly.
The shower had mouldy grout but there was plenty of hot water. This would surely make it easy to clean away?
We had paid for breakfast and in the morning made our way to the ‘restaurant’.
It was hard to tell who the staff were as all we could see was a group of people standing around one of the high tables drinking. Nobody greeted us on arrival and there were no other guests at the time.
The breakfast had obviously been pre-cooked and my fried egg was like a bullet!
The outside seating at the hotel is also shabby, a coat of varnish on the tables and a good sweep of the area would do wonders.
So sad to see the deterioration of this place.
The price we paid for the accommodation was definitely not cheap and we expected and I believe we’re entitled to better accommodation and service. Definitely not good value for money or a pleasant experience.

Pros:

Staff at bar & manager who checked us in all very friendly and helpful, great location for our visit to the races and central location for having a wander round town the next day

Cons:

Rooms could do with an overall refresh, but they do the job as somewhere to stay. Provide fans for the summer.... even though I had windows open, I've never been so sweltering hot in a room overnight 🥵 !

Convenient localtiond, disappointing accommodation
Pros:

Convenient for the town. Friendly staff.

Cons:

Broken window in our room (11). Net curtains balanced on nails so they fell down when trying to open the window. Room very small. Whole place looked run down.

Room disappointing
Pros:

Location was excellent for what we wanted, room was disappointing, could have done with some tlc, it was very hot when we stayed there & we appreciated the fan they left in the room, shame the windows couldn’t be opened. Also no hot water on the day we left.

Cons:

Room in need of tlc

Good place to stay if your going to the races and want to carrying on partying. Not so good if you want a good night sl
Pros:

Location

Cons:

Rooms need an upgrade
Windows didn’t open and the room was uncomfortably hot.
The bar (which was good) stayed open until 2 am. We weren’t informed. We were celebrating an 80th birthday as a family and you can imagine how that went down when everyone retired to bed with the music pumping.

Perfect economy for my purposes
Pros:

Parking was good and free on checking in - a huge bonus nowadays!!
The bedroom was a reasonable size with comfy bed and linen.
The ensuite had a bath - always enjoy a good soak!
Location was perfect for my purposes

Cons:

The shower over the bath only had a static rain head and turning on the bath taps risked a soaking depending on what the setting had been left on as access was tricky due to shower screen panel. The shower head got me!
It is a noisy hotel bar below with music. Fortunately I stayed on a Sunday when it closes early at 10:00 so no night problem but it started early at 07:30 for breakfast with beats flowing through from beneath.
Creakiest corridor floor I've ever heard.

Location wise good, but DJ until 12:30am with no prior notice and cobwebs galore
Pros:

Local to our event

Cons:

When we checked in, we was told there would be a DJ for both nights until 12:30am - nothing mentioned when I checked n online as if we'd have known that, we wouldn't have booked. There were multiple cobwebs in the bedroom, that clearly had been there a while...
