The hotel is composed by various buildings located in different places of the city. Check in is done at reception where all information is provided. Parking easily available. Accomodation was so charming, with all what we could need, minibar fully stocked and design. Very quiete night at Shippou along the river and away from the road. Even in winter, no cold in the room to sleep nicely.
Staff are doing their best to help and have a good stay.
Restaurant LE UN, where breakfast is served as well, is Top Class and food delicious.
City is really charming and worth discovery thanks to the map provided by the Hotel and local shops easily found (coffee, souvenirs, sake, soy sauce, etc)

Difficult to open the entrance door by using key. Noisy outside at night.

The hotel room was clean, newly renovated and very modern. The staff was wonderful. Our room was situated right next to the canal and part of the famous Inoh Tadatake museum. Very convenient to the old town of Sawara , which is what I wanted to visit.
My only concern was that the reception and dining area is in a separate building from ours and there was no transport to and from. Our room was about a quarter mile or a little less from the main building that housed reception and restaurant. The good thing is, we are old but able to walk. We left our baggage, walked around town, came back to claim our luggage and walked back to find our hotel room. Then for dinner, we had to walk back to the main building and after dinner, walk back to our room. Night gets dark early so walking along the side of a road with cars can be quite hazardous. The following day, we were able to find another route to and from so that made it a little easier.
The accommodations were excellent - very comfortable, great layout, nice amenities
Could have been given more assistance with restaurants in the area. We asked and were told there were plenty of options. It took us some effort to find something open.

Lovely place to stay in historic Sawara near the canal. Beautifully styled, spacious room (Yata) with seating area and desk. Generous complimentary soft drinks, wine and beer. Well airconditioned. Parking right outside the door. Beautiful breakfast served in the main Kagura building. Welcoming and helpful staff.
The room has no outlook. Although there was a private courtyard garden you can’t see it from inside because the door glass is frosted which is I pity. The pillow is also a hard Japanese style one so bring your own if you like a softer pillow.
