Spend 3 nights and staff are friendly. It was a great locations for the local shopping. Near can find some great attraction areas and a very safe area. Also the breakfast is really good according to based on budget.
A friends power went out so i had to stay here to await power re-connection. The hotel is quite old and in need of a refurbishment. The room was basic but clean. Staff were pleasant enough. It was a fair experience :)
Never found any hotel like this one in Jakarta. Quite easy to reach, nice location, good quality of service and room availability. Never hesitate to be there again and see it's warmth.
I hope it will be a nice and better in the future and make me always back there.
I chose this hotel because the location is in Kemang, with low budget, close to many restaurants and nightlife, just walking distance. The room itself is plain, clean, but old fashioned. But it's worthy with the low budget you paid. My suggestion, don't leave your valuable things in the rooms, because they don't have safety box and the door key is old style.
The hotel was OK but I was not very pleased that when I forgot my leather coat in the room and phoned back a few days later that they claimed they never saw it. I stayed for two nights but I will not stay at this hotel again.
So I stayed here for a night last weekend to prepare for a business meeting the next day in Setiabudi area with three of my friends. We booked two rooms (one was superior and the other was standard). First impression was actually good but for almost $50 a night, the quality was only almost OK.
Superior Room was different from the showroom they showed us, but still acceptable. AC worked just fine, but there was no mop for the bathroom.
Standard Room was really disappointing because the AC wasn't working and my two friends (I slept in the superior room) couldn't have a good night sleep whereas we needed to be well-rested for the presentation the next day.
Phone signal went lost as soon as we enter the room, which was super weird because we were in Kemang. Wifi only works at the restaurant and it was windy and raining, so we had to stay in the room while we needed internet to work. We had our mobile demodulator (modem) but got no signal in the room. Connectivity is a huge problem here.
To top it all off, I was really offended by how the officer at the restaurant served us at the breakfast. I mean of course it was his job to make sure that everyone having breakfast was guest, but the way he treated us was rather irritating.
All in all, I know that it's a low-cost establishment and I should've booked nicer hotels for better services (which I would've done had I have any other options because every hotel was full-booked), but they really could improve the services even for a $50 a night.
Stayed at this place in Dec 2012 and loved it. It has a very earthy feel. The rooms are spacious & although old, are well looked maintained and clean. The bathroom is spacious and the beds comfortable. The wifi on the other hand only works in the lobby & the restaurant. The breakfast is adequate and delicious. This hotel is located near Kemang, so expect to walk/cab it to any where further than the Eastern Promise restaurant. It's a very good choice & by no means unattractive. I would recommend it.
Stayed in this hotel last month as I couldn’t get a place in Kemang and find that it was decent. The “showroom” which the reception showed us on the 1st floor was far from what we’ve actually got on the 3rd floor.
It was a relatively normal hotel with an old charm. The room was very basic and did not match up to the price (350k per night) as we can get better stays elsewhere, but I believe that the credits definitely goes out to the location – It was situated along the main road before junction to Kemang area.
The best of the hotel lies in the restaurant, as it offered delicious and tasty delicacies.
My friends and I tried the “Nasi Goreng Jawa” which comes with their specialty fried chicken and “Tomyum Noodles” and the comfortable sofas in the restaurant were perfect for our great afternoon chat.
Saturday night was quite noisy as there was some “dangdut dance” going on just outside the hotel which lasted till about 4am in the morning.
I stayed here because it was the right price: about $50 for a decent room.
They showed me a cheaper room which stank. They have wi-fi in the coffee shop only, and no English language channels on the TV. I expect more for $50. But it's half of what the nicer hotels in the immediate area cost. There are amenities within a 15 minute walk.
The traffic in Jakarta is awful. The street in front of the hotel is currently torn up for a major construction project, which made matters worse.
