Great location. Walking distance to the lake and shops. Good restaurants and cafes near by. Staff friendly and all speak english. The stay was pleasant.
This hotel is improperly advertised as a 4 star hotel. If I am being generous, I would give it a 3 star at most.
Pros: the rooms are clean and large, and the location is great.
Cons: the hotel is extremely dated, it is in need of significant repair, the bathroom had a lot of issues, and there was mold on the ceiling. The toilet seat was broken, you can’t flush toilet paper in the toilet, the bathtub was not fixed to the wall, the shower curtain didn’t fit the bath tub and was in need of change.
Overall it was an ok stay but well overpriced for what is being offered. There are much better properties in Hanoi at a much more reasonable price.
All the staff were amazingly nice and helpful, very fluent English and quick to approach and assist you. The breakfast buffet , though limited size, was one of the best breakfasts I’ve had in Asia, even compared to Hyatts and Marriott’s because the chefs have a nice variety of menu creations/ cuisines, eggs made to order not left in a cold tray and some challenging items you don’t normally see for a free Asia buffet (double baked potato is amazing). The hotel is five minute walk to the lake and night market. Bed was soft and pillows plentiful. Also have HBO and the movie channel thats not normal to find in many hotels/ Asian countries. Only disappoint, tried to eat dinner in restaurant Friday and Saturday but no one there eating and dining area was dark, seemed not ready for business so made other dinner plans. Hoped it would be similar experience as breakfast.

This is our first trip to Hanoi, the hotel staffs were very friendly and helpful. Whenever we need any directions for recommendation, the staffs are most willing to help. We felt very homely in the hotel. Everyday we were met with warm smile from every staff be it we enter or leave the hotel.
Breakfast was good and was served with personal preference.
The staffs send us off with a warm smile as we left for airport.
This is the hotel that I highly recommended, as we enjoyed our stay during our 6 days in Hanoi.
I picked this hotel for it's location and 24hr check in since we arrived at 2am. The room was old and had holes in the wall and water damaged floors. The bathroom was awful. You had to use the hand held shower to bathe. Water went everywhere since the bathroom was poorly put together. The wifi barely worked in the room. Very little amenities besides free breakfast and bottle water.
Very well located in old quarter pleasant walk to lots of attractions, red bridge pogoda, water puppets, market and food streets, night markets, train street not far if you enjoy a walk, hotel ideal for day trip pickups and short walk to hop on hop off tourist bus, cosy place, one elevator, rooms neat and tidy. Window view with some road noise on lower levels.
2 for 1 cocktail hours a treat from the 14th floor rooftop view and the bar staff were fantastic. Buffet breakfast enjoyable with good choice.
Would suggest...Get the Grab app for very good pricing and very safe and easy transport all over Vietnam and the Wise visa card or similar for ease in the transfer of money into dong or other currencies at max rate.

Great location, great staff. Good value overall. The lift (1 only) is frustratingly slow and the air conditioning although functional was problematic with you regularly having to turn off and on again to reset. Overall the positives outweigh the negatives at this hotel. Staff and customer service were the highlight
Property is quiet run down and does not live up to the reviews or overall rating. Room disappointing, breakfast disappointing, cleanliness of hotel in general disappointing. Would not recommend at the price charged.
This is my 2nd review. I stayed earlier in the week and my stay was fine. I was in a city view suite. I booked a “Superior Double Room” for this next visit. (We spent 2 nights in Ha Long Bay in the middle so this is why 2 stays).
When I went to walk into my room 602 it stunk of cigarette, it was bad and the hotel acknowledged this so put me into an alternative room for 1 night and then I had to move again as it was booked the following night by someone else (this room was an upgrade, was an ok room however the air conditioning turned off part way through the night and had to reset it this seems a common issue as my friend had the same issue but in a different room.
On my 2nd night I moved rooms and the room was waiting for me to simply change over and move my bags. The 2nd room is the style I originally booked, a tiny room but it is what I booked. The toilet however was blocked up and when I flushed it there was a push back of sewage. I reported this however the toilet never flushed properly which is not ideal.
Based on my stay here I would stay in a city view suite, I would not opt to stay here again in another type of room.
I stayed in a suite I paid for lake view and was given a city view. However appears the layout of the city view room was better. I was fortunate to get an early check in. I arrived at 9am from an international flight and spent 3 hours in the spa before checking in. The hotel is very narrow. The breakfast was not for me. It’s in old town area even though I’m sure I read French district. The area is overwhelmingly busy and cannot walk on any side walks whereas French district a few minutes walk away you can walk on the sidewalks.
Staff is absolutely lovely and I can not say enough about how accommodating the ladies in the spa were for our family - they were so wonderful!. The morning buffet was also fantastic as were the views from the rooftop bar. Location is highly convenient to the Old Quarter.
But..I struggle a bit with the 4-star designation. It’s evident that there’s has been some work put in to update the rooms, but the floors were dirty, the tub wiggled when You stood In It to shower, the tub faucet was dangling from the wall, you could not flush the toilet paper, and the noise from inside the hotel, itself, was horrific at night with doors slamming, people dropping things, babies screaming. I suspect a western 4-star has a different standard and I’m trying to take that into account after having travelled extensively and It wasn’t all bad, but a little disappointing.
Staff was great. Hotel was awesome. Area perfect for exploring old quarter. Highly recommend.
I had arranged to be picked up from the Airport, one of the reasons I booked this hotel was because of this service.They sent an excellent confirmation with precise details…I waited over 40 minutes for a taxi which did not show up. After phoning the hotel (incurring additional phone expenses) they did arrange a transfer and after more complaining did not charge me…but I had wasted time and spent money phoning them…good location. Bar VERY loud, so impossible to go there for a quiet drink.
This hotel is well located walking distance to most places and site really clean and the staff is super friendly. The breakfast is really good.
We loved our stay at the Bendecir Hotel. Staff is awesome, so friendly and helpful. The rooms are nice and complimentary breakfast is delicious. It's very close to everything but the hotel is quiet. Excellent location. I would definitely stay there again.
