Probably Tasucu is not the place where I would spend more than a few days, but the Lades Motel really worth a stay. With a cold beer and a good book, you can enjoy a complete relax by the pool, which is only few steps away from the sea...
Rooms are bright, view is nice, price is good and breakfast fully acceptable.
First room we were given had a leaking toilet hence half the bathroom floor was covered in water. The second room we were given was like a room from the 1950's. Cold tiled floor, strong musky stale smell. Furniture like it came from second hand shop. Paintwork - a 4 year old could have done better. Wardrobe door did not shut, window did not close properly. The single light in the room not bright - maybe so you didn't see the state of the room!! Dead flies in the shower. Do not touch bathroom mirror or it will fall off the wall. Decor in the room was very dated. Could hear next door showering like it was in your wardrobe. TOILET BRUSH WAS DISGUSTING LIKE IT HAD NEVER BEEN CHANGED - had to cover it with a bag!!! Toilet has a nice permanent yellow stain down the inside. Overall the place was disgusting - would not stay if it was free!!!
A good clean tourist hotel with stunning views over the sea and a 2 minute walk to town centre...swimming pool still closed unfortunately as out of season.Typical breakfast but plenty of it.English spoken at reception....only negative was balcony walls were low so not suitable for children.rooms larger than average with great hot shower and would use again if ever in the area. Many restaurants in town.
Whilst its location is good - close to the old harbour - and it has a pleasant terrace onto the sea, this is a hotel (it's not a motel) whose time has passed. A relic of the sixties, it is simply not up to current standards. Yes, it was spotlessly clean, but the rooms were very basic, the beds uncomfortable and the breakfast barely adequate.
I'm a backpacker. This place is great. Great staff. Good hot water pressure. Great great view of The Med from balcony. Close to ferry and harbor. Breakfast included was great. Eggs, cucumbers, tomatoes, cheese, fresh bread and tea. Bed was comfy. I stayed here before I traveled to North Cyprus and also after I returned. Great rate for what you get.
Had to stay in Lades for a couple of nights while waiting for a ferry boat to transport my motorcycle, the hotel was once half decent but the decay of time has overwhelmed it extensively , mattresses are old and so are the bed sheets , curtains are for show only not sunlight protection, the staff is eager to please though .
We stayed at the Lades Hotel for 1 night after travelling by train from the UK heading to Northern Cyprus. Basic hotel, but rooms are very clean & fresh, great balcony & the veiws are fabulous.Great air con. Staff very friendly, greeted us from our taxi & carried our bags to our room. The usual breakfast of bread, cheese, eggs & ham, but plenty of it & fresh. We dined next door, which was lovely. Great little town. Are going back next year en route to Cyprus.
Stayed here for a couple of nights with a birding group. Had good expectations having checked out their website before leaving the UK, but was faced with a series of disappointments. This was the only place we were staying which had a pool, but I'd hoiked my cozzie round Turkey for nothing; there wasn't any water in it.
Nice sea view from our balcony, slightly marred by all the paint flaking off the walls. Room was clean and adequate - still only a ration of 3 hangers in the closet though! Good shower - slightly temperamental if demand for hot water was high, but better than most other places we stayed.
Dinner was the biggest disappointment; as our group (15 of us) seemed to be the only diners there was no menu - just very watered down packet soup with bread, salad - complete with caterpillar, spaghetti with greasy chicken nuggets - sauce was mayo or ketchup! I didn't think dinner 2 could be worse but it was - rice plus rectangular pieces of "meat" formed from mechanically recovered "lamb" (at least the caterpillar didn't make a repeat appearance).
I could almost believe that the hotel wasn't really properly open - I only ever saw the manager/owner and 2 employees, but it makes a big thing of catering for birdwatchers and May is prime time for birdwatching on the Goksu Delta.
It's not a bad location with lots of cafes and supermarkets just down the street so if you stay here - do yourself a favour and eat out!
Such a beautiful location right next to a little harbor in Tasucu. A nice pool looking over the Med. We were greeted warmly and quickly showed our room and were asked if we would like refreshments brought to our room. A nice welcome! Nice balcony.
And now for the other side of things. The rooms are very, very basic indeed. The bed hard as a rock. We ended up leaving a day early because our backs hurt so much. There is no where to put clothing so I didn't even unpack. Oh, there were 3 hangers in the closet. Don't eat here...pretty unappetizing , greasy Tava, tasteless salad. Go down to the little harbor to eat for a fun time watching the ferry people come and go. Stop at one of the little spots right on the tiny beach for a drink.
The Lades staff works hard to please...maybe too hard as I felt as if I was being watched a lot. Lots of birders going to the Gozu Delta stay here. It is fine if you know what you are getting. I need a more comfortable room with a place to put clothes and a comfortable bed. And , by the way, there was that offensive seemingly Turkish thing about "forbidding" outside food and drink. Nonsense! Bring snacks up anyway and go out for dinner. Try Babu next door....excellent! 'The staff here depends on repeat guests..That's great but we won't be.
Lovely hotel with a big, impressing pool along the shore of the Mediteranean. Clean rooms all with balconies overlooking the Mediteranean. Nice air-con. Could do with a small refrigerator.
Nice breakfast in- or outdoor.
Very helpful and friendly family staff.
Lots of nice restaurants nearby. ATM and supermarkets 100 m away.
Ferry terminal for Girne (Kyrenia) Northern Cyprus 2 min walk away.
The small town Tasucu is a charming and quiet place with a nice harbour and sculpture park.
