Pros:

Good location, within 30 minutes of the airport. Breakfast was excellent - best choice throughout our stay in Scotland. The staff were fabulous and the room was a decent size.

Cons:

Bathroom had a very strange smell and there wasn't much by way of toiletries provided, especially in comparison to other hotels we stayed in.

Simply lovely!
Pros:

Transportation to Edinburgh is cheap and straightforward. Staff were exceedingly lovely and the breakfast was excellent. The room was fresh and clean with suitable amenities like tea, coffee and lovely shortbread. We’ll be staying here on future trips to Edinburgh. The peace and quiet of Penicuik is welcome after the hustle and bustle of Edinburgh.

Pros:

We loved our stay here. The staff were very friendly and attentive. It was a beautiful day, so we were able to take advantage of the beer garden, which had a lovely atmosphere. The food that we had for both dinner and breakfast was fantastic and the service at both sittings was great! The room was comfortable and quiet. We would definitely return in the future.

Fabulous stay, comfortable and welcoming hotel
Pros:

Great location, really lovely big room. The staff were all lovely
Beautifully appointed room, complimentary toiletries and tea/coffee etc
Bathroom was fab, shower was huge and hot
Widow opened, I loved the fresh air
Breakfast was amazing, huge choice , excellent

Cons:

The reception area was quite dark but that’s just a personal observation

We would happpily stay again..
Pros:

It's a lovely old hotel, very near everything we were doing in Penicuik. Our accommodation was superior. The staff was fantastic. Within 24 hours they all knew us by name. Food in the dining room was fantastic..

We were visiting family nearby so this was an excellent base for us and also for our onward journey to Edinburgh to do s
Pros:

Very comfortable rooms and bed.
Staff were so friendly, particularly Nieve, but all staff were pleasant and helpful.
Buses plentiful to get you into Edinburgh and located a very short walk from the hotel.
Excellent breakfast and choice. Coffee was excellent too.
Very good value for money and will definitely stay again.
Lots of parking available too.

Cons:

Very happy no complaints.
