Leider sehr viele Affen, die auf die auf die Terrasse kamen und Essen klauten.

Perfect location to go visit the archeological site nearby

Cons:

Photos on booking are not of the place you're going to stay but of the owner's house. The actual building is not as nice. When we arrived we were asked in what room we would have liked to stay, suggesting the AC room because the other one was not clean, this room ended up costing almost double the price. We had dinner at the homestay, nothing special, again really different from what you would expect from photos you can see posted, 1300 rupees per pax for vegetable curry rice and a banana, 1200 rupees for a beer, draw your own conclusions based on Sri Lankan prices...To be completely fair, after some discussion we paid for the room we booked, but still the price didn't feel right.

Die Gastgeber waren sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit, ein perfektes backpacker- Zimmer mit Frühstück und super leckerem Abendessen von Mama gekocht...Affen und Hirsche im Garten kann man auch noch entdecken...Danke für diese tollen Tage.

Tranquil with deer and monkeys
Pros:

Very quiet and surrounded by large trees, historic sites and irrigation canal that is being fed by the ancient Parakrama Samudra nearby.
Ranjith, the retired school teacher and the owner of the place helped me to brush up my Singhalese, his wife Amara made me a mouthwatering evening meal of rice and five curries.
Dilshan the owner's son was very engaging and helped with me need.
Wonderful stay.
Lots and lots of monkeys playing around and even a family of deer 🦌 walk calmly through the garden.

Cons:

Like many guest houses in Sri Lanka in the budget category, place need some maintenance.
That didn't diminish my experience

Pros:

The host family was very friendly and helpfull. The original Sri Lanka food was very delicious and plenty. The location is a dream for nature lovers with a lot of wildlife in the garden, on the fringe of the jungle an just a step to the ruins of Polonnaruwa.

Pros:

Very nice place, peaceful. There are many wild animals around like deers, huge lizards, giant and ordinary lizards, many different birds, fire flies and cheeky monkeys.
The family is very nice and they also cook for you if you wish. A nice breakfast is included.
