Slice of rose-scented heaven.
Pros:

We stayed at Domaine de la Roseraie for two nights of relaxation after a hectic (but unforgettable) Sahara Desert trip, and it was the perfect place to unwind.

Tucked away in the peaceful foothills of Morocco’s High Atlas Mountains, this beautiful retreat feels like stepping into a dream. Just an hour from Marrakech, it offers a welcome escape from the city, with fresh mountain air and stunning views creating an immediate sense of calm.

The grounds are truly special—filled with thousands of blooming rose bushes, olive groves, and lush orchards. It’s easy to lose track of time simply wandering around. The cottage-style rooms are full of charm, decorated with traditional Moroccan touches, and each has a private patio or balcony that’s perfect for slow mornings or relaxing at sunset.

Days here are wonderfully unhurried. You can enjoy a swim in one of the pools, unwind in the hammam, or simply relax and take in the surroundings. There are also opportunities for horse riding and scenic walks through the nearby valleys, and even some friendly donkeys adding to the charm. The viewpoint overlooking Ouirgane Lake is particularly beautiful.
The evening meals deserve a special mention - high quality restaurant standard on both nights. 10/10.

What really sets this place apart is its atmosphere. As a family-run hotel, there’s a genuine sense of care, sustainability, and connection to the local environment.

Overall, a peaceful and memorable stay—an ideal place to recharge and experience a slower, more tranquil side of Morocco.

A true oasis that makes you feel like you've escaped to another world.
Pros:

The property is unbelievable. It is massive, and there's so much to explore. We spent two of our days largely not leaving the property and just enjoying the serenity of the gardens & surrounding canyons. You can tell how much time and care is put into the grounds. Also the breakfast!!! Incredible. So many breads and spreads and the staff is delightfully attentive without being overbearing.

Lovely stay in a beautiful hotel !
Pros:

Very pretty hotel, lovely decorated on a lovely property in a beautiful setting ; surrounded by mountains covered with snow . Very nice and quiet place, we enjoyed very much the tranquility of the hotel. During our stay there were few other guests ( because of Ramadan and early season ) , so I don’tknow how it is when there are much more guests ( there are over 40 rooms I believe) .

Cons:

Really a very nice hotel, gorgeous place. So little or nothing to complain about. We had a junior suite, a small coffee machine in the room would have been nice maybe. Curiously, the room had no shower, only a bath with a handshower.

Very torn about the score I gave to this hotel, sorry!
Pros:

I am afraid I have been thinking about the score for this hotel for 2 days but…my experience has been rather average.
First the positives: the staff couldn’t have been more accommodating and helpful and the diner was first notch. The gardens are absolutely magic also in winter so I can only imagine the beauty in spring with the thousands of roses blooming.
Negatives: warm shower, patchy Wi-Fi and TV and telephone non working. Frankly a patchy Wi-Fi with a war raging in the Middle East and our flights going through there was a bit stressful. Also probably because they are preparing for the season everything seems a bit “hit and miss”….pity but I am sure that my opinion is only related to the off season stay.

The perfect place to relax and reconnect with nature
Pros:

During the Thanksgiving holiday, I stayed at Domaine de la Roseraie. The experience was exceptional, and I confidently recommend the Roseraie as an ideal starting point for visitors to Morocco interested in relaxation, cultural exploration, and experiencing local hospitality. The proprietor, Nabil, along with his staff, provide attentive service and demonstrate genuine hospitality. The Thanksgiving dinner, which included traditional elements such as cranberry sauce, was notable for its quality. Enjoying Moroccan tea in a tranquil setting and walking through the gardens to appreciate the flora and fragrances contributed significantly to the overall positive impression of my visit.

Old world charm and great service
Pros:

The garden environment of this hotel is very special and the pool and bar area are lovely. The evenings were cold in November but everywhere felt very cosy with roaring fires. We really enjoyed the dinners (set price for 3 courses with a choice of 3 options for each course). Interesting and tasty dishes and very good value. The large and comfortable beds and the very peaceful environment gave us great sleeps. We loved the history and old world charm of this hotel. The staff were very attentive and caring and made our stay easy and enjoyable.

Cons:

The bathroom was looking a bit old.

A fabulous place to stay, better food would have us hurrying back
Pros:

The location is stunning and the grounds of the hotel very beautiful indeed. The staff are charming, they lack the expertise that goes with a truly top hotel but definitely want to help. The room was extremely comfortable.

Cons:

We didn't eat very much, unfortunately we'd picked up travellers' tummy earlier in our holiday, but the food we did try was not quite as good as some of the reviews suggest (so maybe fine for less foody travellers than us). We were there for a major weather event and were a bit surprised to find we had neither a phone in the room nor an umbrella, I guess we could have used our mobiles to call for help, but a walk to reception during the major rainstorm would certainly have been challenging.

A calming retreat
Pros:

A beautiful, calm retreat. We had a nicely decorated room but the highlight of this property is the setting. Beautiful grounds with a large variety of trees and flowers. Fantastic mountain vistas. Friendly staff contribute to the experience. The food is good but not great.

Beautiful hotel and grounds and with access to walks in the hill
Pros:

The pools were beautiful, as were all the grounds which were excellently maintained. The lounge area, restaurant and bar were tastefully decorated and presented. We particularly loved the bar terrace and dining room with its Moroccan decor and textiles. All the staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful and the owners clearly set high standard for them.

Cons:

The breakfasts were very substantial but the choice was limited and repetitive for a hotel of this standard. For example no dishes of fruits were available and those single fruits which were offered - e.g. banana were frequently overripe or underripe. We would have expected a higher standard for a hotel of this quality.

The evening meals were a bit hit and miss too - if you are not in the dining room early evening it could take a long time to be served because the waiter shows the menu to each table in rotation from a black board. There are no prices listed and we found out later that you pay the same whether you have one or three of the courses offered. The size of the portions varied widely from sufficient for one to enough for two/ three but with no indication as to how large they would be from the waiters. The food was of a good quality with some exceptionally tasty salads and desserts.

We moved rooms due to the aspect of the first room we had booked as it looked out onto dry woodland from a scruffy terrace and was very dark. The second room had no shower which was a nuisance for five nights but the aspect of the room was much more pleasant. However a locked door led from the lounge area to another room and we could hear noise from other guests staying during the day and evening and they could presumably hear us too. It was clearly meant to double up as a family suite.

Chill in the hills
Pros:

One of the best places we have stayed. You can chill, hike, mountain bike, whatever you want. The hotel and gardens are beautiful. Food and bar exceptional quality. Sitting on the veranda for a sundowner is the best. Pool can be cool, but a lovely quiet area.
Hotel staff will sort whatever you need. We had a local guide for hiking a few mornings.
Would love to go back…..and really hope to.

Eher etwas enttäuschend.
Pros:

Lage gut.

Cons:

Frühstück sehr bescheiden. Abendessen eine ziemliche Abfertigung. Kein schöner Raum. Keine Auswahl. Vorgegebenes Menü. Bäder ziemlich alt und nicht sehr ansprechend. Alles in allem etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Service nicht gut.
