Le Manoir Saint Thomas

We booked this 3-night stay via Expedia.

I completed an informational form from the hotel on the day prior to check-in, only to be advised later that there were no “superior” rooms with a shower. The remaining rooms had step-in bathtubs with shower wands.

After some back-and-forth chats with the receptionist, I downgraded to the ground-floor Room 2 to ensure there'd be a shower.
Hint: the shower turns on by pushing one of the three buttons (handheld wand, overhead 1, and overhead 2).

Pros:
Location, large shower with two sinks and comfort height toilet
secure (free) parking
Receptionist Marine was friendly, helpful, and fluent in English; ice available upon request.
There is an inviting pool that appeared to be heated, and there are two pairs of flip-flops available in the bathroom.

Cons:
Pricey 20€ pp continental breakfast, but high quality and easy
Limited receptacles that are dark-colored and very hard to see. There are, however, two above the right bathroom sink

Parking space is VERY limited (perhaps six spaces) - I tried to be a nice guy and leave the e-vehicle space open and messed up my car door trying to get into what wasn’t even a space - never again will I be Mr. Nice Guy. Best to back into a space and to use the e-vehicle or handicapped space if necessary.

On-site dining is a stationary food truck that (supposedly) requires reservations - burger was tasty, nothing else on the menu looked appealing to us.
It is very tricky to find the very narrow (8.5 ft) vehicle entrance (through the bright red large doors). It’s on a one-way street, and we had to drive through a parking lot, then turn left on that one-way street to get to the entrance.

Suggestion: book direct to ensure your bath preference. They only have 9 rooms, with either bathtub (+ handheld shower wand) or shower. Because I booked with Expedia they were unable to make an adjustment for the downgraded room type.

Kleinschalig Hotel. Erg gastvrij personeel. Super leuk én goed foodtruck restaurant in de tuin.

Nice regional Hotel with lots of charm

Beautiful house and grounds. Amboise is a great location base for Loire Valley and Manor St Thomas is an excellent place to stay. Close walking to Castle and Clos Luce

Auf der Durchreise haben wir eine Nacht in diesem wunderschönen, nostalgischen Hotel verbracht. Mitten in Amboise, mit eigenem Parkplatz und nur wenige Gehminuten vom royalen Schloss und dem Kern der Altstadt entfernt, ist dieses Hotel ideal gelegen. Am Abend bietet der im eigenen Park platzierte Foodtruck ausgezeichnete Speisen und am Morgen verwöhnt ein ganz besonderes Frühstück.

Great character filled property full of interesting bits and pieces with fantastic atmosphere. Outside dining from the Airstream themed kitchen is great aswell.
Beautiful room and bathroom. Friendly helpful staff in all areas.

Beautiful, clean, convenient.

This stately and elegant hôtel is an experience. Beautifully appointed period rooms feel regal, they’re spacious with comfortable bedding for a good night’s rest after visiting chateaux. A warm welcoming reception desk with a relaxing lounge and breakfast room. Parking on site is a very big plus, as is the convenient location to walk to Chateau Amboise, Clos Luce and the many restaurants.

Small chateau just in the town center close to all sights. Parking is excellent. rooms beautifully decorated with antique French furniture with all amenities. Breakfast many choices. staff amazing as well. Our room had all old wood floors with moderate noise when walking (period flooring) also a musty odor which not all will like. overall amazing place to stay
