Very cozy and beautiful small hotel.
Pros:

Very cozy traditional japanese building. We hade the 4 bed room with beating area, bathroom and shower which also hade a small zen garden. It was very beautiful and the staff is very friendly and helpful.

Cons:

Nothing really, 10 minutes walk to subway, perhaps som people dont like that.
The beds are harder than Western style beds, IF you have problem with that be aware.

Highly recommend Marikoji Inn Kyoto
Pros:

I highly recommend Marikoji Inn Kyoto, the room was excellent, always exceptionally clean, with very comfortable bed and an excellent shower. The room facilities were also fantastic. Really friendly staff. Felt very safe as a solo woman traveller. Great location near amenities and close to bus stops and subway.

Ubytování předčilo všechna očekávání, co se poměru cena - výkon týče. Pokoj je příjemný a čistý. Lokalita klidná, ale zároveň je to do centra to vlakem za chvíli. Majitelé mluví anglicky, bezproblémová komunikace, sami nabídli brzký check-in.

掃除が行き届いている、雨の時傘を貸してもらえる、京大に大変近く受験に最適、無料のペットボトルの水のラベルがきちんとはがしてあり、受験会場に持ち込めるように配慮されていた。

過不足のない、ちょうどいい宿👍
Pros:

閑静な住宅地にあり、銭湯やコインランドリー、ドラッグストアやコンビニ、居酒屋や喫茶店…徒歩圏内になんでもあり便利。部屋も広く、清潔感もあり、アメニティなども気が利いていて快適に過ごせた。

Cons:

下駄箱が臭かった。(たまたま靴の臭い人がいたのかも)

Pros:

The owner was very friendly and highly communicative, both in booking chat and in person. Quick with responses and help whenever needed.
It has a good connection with the other parts of the city both by bus and by a short walk to the station. The apartment has a very cosy feeling.

Cons:

The heater helps a lot and is highly necessary as the apartment loses temperature quite quickly.
