Based on local tax laws, guests with a tourist visa to Israel are exempted from paying VAT for their reservation. Israeli citizens and residents ("non tourists" as defined in the VAT law) must pay VAT. This tax is automatically calculated in the total cost of the reservation for domestic customers. I cannot speak highly enough of my stay at the Vera Hotel. I was originally meant to stay for three nights to watch my son run the TA marathon, but as soon as the troubles began I had to extend my stay.
The hotels staff were incredibly supportive and helpful with all their guests making sure we could get to the safe room when the sirens went off. This happened at least a dozen times throughout the night.
In addition nothing was too much trouble including assisting with obtaining additional medication for an extended stay.
The hotel offers free tea and coffee and a selection of Israeli wines 24/7 with snacks.
Its location is ideal for sightseeing, shopping and visiting great sites. I cannot recommend it more highly enough.
