Lovely relaxed stay with excellent facilities.
Pros:

Excellent location. Great to have two bathrooms, and the layout of the room was nice, however a table and chairs might be nice. The glass doors and blinds for each room was good for privacy. Loved having the rooftop bar and restaurant in pub below. We had a jug of spritz, then just got in the lift and came back to our room. Same with our dinner, just popped down to the pub for dinner, then back to the room. Great location, only two blocks from South Melbourne Markets with tram just outside. We really loved our stay at the Clarendon!

Cons:

would be nice to have a table and chairs, though the layout of the room probably wouldn't allow for this, however we did improvise with the small table and two chairs. One of the bathroom doors didn't close, and the toilet flushing was really noisy- it made a really loud noise after flushing.

Ok but would not come back
Pros:

It is close to a lot of restaurants and a big market and tram stops.

Cons:

The pictures don't resemble what the room looks like because the interior is much older. The room is ok but could be more comfortable with a small couch or paintings. The check in onsite close at 3pm which is a bit ridiculous and they ask for a copy of your ID per email if you need a late check in. I'm not sure if you've heard of data protection but you're not supposed to send that information over email so i suggest you change the protocol to an encrypted way.

A great 1 night stay
Pros:

We stayed in a huge corner room and the bed was enormous - a superking - and very comfortable. We arrived after normal check in and received detailed instructions and photos for accessing the room. It all worked well. Plenty of street parking too - on a Monday night. Fab location - one block from the South Melbourne Market. And lots a great cheap and cheerful restaurants nearby.

The worst experience on booking.com ever
Pros:

I arrived in the evening with no one in the reception. The lift was broken down and the guy who picked up the phone forced me to cancel the booking. He canceled my booking without my consent. It was highly unprofessional. I now need to make a formal complaint with booking.com. I would NOT recommend anyone to stay

Comfortable bed, bathrooms have been upgraded recently, love the big windows and high ceilings
Pros:

Location great, easy to get into city quickly in the AM. Lots of restaurants in area and a grocery store.

Cons:

Some maintenance is required for the room I was in. The shower area needs attention: slow drain, missing face plate on the tap, tap handle not set (fell off). The kitchenette sink needs be fastened to the counter (loose). Music from the restaurant does come up into the room
